Olde Soul is a Ghanaian American Hip Hop producer and disk jockey. This Los Angeles-based musician is mostly known as a samplist, or one who uses the sampler to create compositions derived from notes and sounds of other musical works and mediums. He is also a founding member of respected Los Angeles-based indie imprint, Content (L)abel.

Early years[edit]
Born on November 11, 1980 in Brooklyn, New York, the son of Ghanaian immigrants, Olde Soul moved to Los Angeles, California with his family at 2 years old. While being introduced to musical genres from Highlife and Soul to Funk and Classic Rock by his parents, Olde Soul was introduced to Hip Hop music in the first grade from a classmate. Though very articulate, even at a young age, the production side of Hip Hop music always piqued his interest.
In high school, Olde Soul was into tagbanging (graffiti art based street gangs), collecting records, and DJing. He also met Content (L)abel founder, Dday One, while attending Alexander Hamilton High School for two years.
While attending Xavier University of Louisiana as an English major, Olde Soul honed his production skills. His production earned some play in local New Orleans radio stations such as WTUL, mostly for production on Memphis, Tennessee based rapper L'Daialogue DiCaprio's independent projects. Upon graduating with a Bachelor's degree in English, Olde Soul moved back to California to develop is Social Work career, while still creating and producing.
