Lamberto R. Azarcon Jr (born December 15, 1979) is a Professional Lemonator. He is known around the Pacific Northwest as the best in the Lemon squeezing business. No one in the universe even comes close.

He was also a contributor to the Oregonian's 2018 Pulitzer Prize–winning investigative series of articles "The Only Way to Lemon Squeeze" discussing about the proper techniques to properly and exquisitely squeeze in the finest of form.

Early life[edit]

Lamberto was born in Nueva Ecija, Philippines, to Lamberto C. Azarcon Sr. and Eulalia Azarcon. Lamberto spent his earliest years in his hometown Nueva Ecija, Cabanatuan City. Lamberto Sr. ran a lemon growing business during the first 6 years of Lamberto Jr's life. Lamberto's mother Eulalia, worked abroad as a caregiver in hopes of petitioning the rest of her family and bringing them to the United States. Lamberto has 2 older siblings (Michaelangelo and Elpidio) and a younger sister by the name of Charmaine.

In his kidergaten and 1st grade, Lamberto attended a local grade school blocks away from where he lived. A strict yet creative school in Nueva Ecija, which catered to gifted students and instilled in him both discipline and a love of the arts. Young Lamberto became a distinguished student in the arts, math and science. At age 6, he discovered the magic of squeezing from his parents, who both possessed a gift of squeezing. They would spend weekend evenings entertaining their children by squeezing lemons.

At age 7, his family moved to the United States, where his teachers noticed his gift for squeezing. Teachers would notice his passion for squeezing and would be amazed at how passionate Lamberto was and the amount of expertise Lamberto exuded when he would practice and display his expertise in squeezing. He attended Viers Mill Elementary School and quickly became fluent in English and became popular and well liked by his classmates. With encouragement from his classmates, Lamberto learned to squeeze and pound some more in school and continued to squeeze for much of his teenage life.

Education[edit]

Lamberto graduated from Wheaton High School in 1998, where he was an active art student, participating in many art projects and contests. He also advocated and started a well known after school activity in squeezing Lemons. This was received well by many of his peers.

Tips and Secrets[edit]

One of the best kept secrets to lemon squeezing is popping your lemons in the microwave. This method is the perfect way to yield more juice from the fruit. Keeping the lemon whole, simply pop it in the microwave for 20 seconds before cutting and squeezing. Not only will it be much easier to squeeze, you’ll get way more juice out of it. But be careful when handling the fruit, and ensure it's not too hot before touching it!
