Iron oxide–apatite deposits, also known as IOA deposits, are a type of ore deposit which in many places constitute highly valuable concentrations of iron. The iron in iron oxide–apatite deposits is found in the form of magnetite and hematite with various amounts of apatite and other gangue minerals, and this assemblage is thought to share a common genetic origin.
