Rajesh Kotecha

Rajesh Kotecha was born in Veraval Somnath, a district in Gujarat on June 18, 1963 and he completed his schooling from Gujarat. After that he did his Bachelor of Ayurveda Medicine and Surgery (BAMS), with merit (stood second in the whole University) from Gujarat Ayurved University[1], Jamnagar, 1985. While doing his graduation, he got Certificate in Food & Nutrition (CFN) from Indira Gandhi National Open University, New Delhi in 1989. Soon after completing B.A.M.S he did his master’s degree in Internal Medicine (M.D. Kayachikitsa) from the same university in 1991.


Awards[edit]

  1. He received a Global Ayurveda Physician Award for the year 2007 from the chief minister of Delhi Mrs. Sheila Dixit, India on 2nd March conferred by Hakim Azmalkhan Society, New Delhi.
  2. He received “Ayurveda Ratna” award from International Academy of Ayurveda Physicians for the year 2008.

  1. A member of 12th Five Year Plan AYUSH Steering Group - Sub Committee on Health Services, Public Health, Insurance and Accreditation of Government of India.
  2. A member of the Editorial board of Ayu Journal[2], an International Quarterly Journal in Ayurveda.
  3. Member nominated by Government of Gujarat in the Board of Post Graduate Teaching and Research, Gujarat Ayurved University, Jamnagar, Gujarat, India from 2005 to 2006.
  4. Member of Scientific Advisory Committee[3] of Institute of P. G. Teaching & Research in Ayurveda, Gujarat Ayurved University,Jamnagar, Gujarat, India from 2005 to 2006.

Personal achievements and Publications[edit]

  1. Author of a book entitled ‘CONCEPT OF ATATTVABHINIVESHA IN AYURVEDA’[4] published by Publication Scheme, Jaipur, India. This monograph provides new way of understanding the minor psychiatric disorders on Ayurveda parameters. He is also the author of 'A study of lekhaniya effect of haridra and chitrak (Curcuma longa and Plumbago zeylanica)'[5]
  2. Expert blog writer and a wellness guru at hellowellness[6]
  3. Chief Editor of AyurvedaNews, a fortnightly e-newsletter having subscriber base of more than 17000 people worldwide.
  4. He has written many research papers [7] in Ayurveda.
