Introduction:

Cripps is a regional law firm serving clients nationally and internationally from offices in Kent and London. With 49 partners[1] and over 350 people, the firm is recognised countrywide for its commercial,[2] property and private client [3]work.

History:

The firm was founded in Tunbridge Wells, Kent, by William Charles Cripps in 1852. His son, also named William Cripps and the Borough’s first Town Clerk, joined in 1877 and later took over the firm. He was joined by Frank Harries in 1920 and Geoffrey Hall in 1933 to form Cripps Harries Hall. The partnership was incorporated as a limited liability partnership in 2005.

In 2013 the firm merged[4] with Vertex Law, changing its name to Cripps in 2014.

Marcalliance:

Cripps is a member of Marcalliance, an alliance of law firms present in 20 countries across Europe, Africa, South East Asia and South America.

Offices:

Cripps has offices in Tunbridge Wells, Kings Hill and London.

The firm has been headquartered in Tunbridge Wells [5]since it was founded in 1852. It has been in London since 1995 and in Kings Hill since 2004.

Corporate responsibility:

Cripps plays an active role in supporting communities nearby to its office locations. This includes providing legal services on a pro bono basis, volunteering at local schools and the sponsorship of community activities. Every member of staff is encouraged to spend a day each year volunteering for a charitable project and a number of employees are trustees at local charities.
