The International Business College Mitrovica (IBCM) is an internationally registered not-for-profit educational foundation based in Mitrovica, Kosovo. It was established by Dutch NGO SPARK in 2010 with donations from the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency, the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Dutch Ministry for Development Cooperation. It has two campuses within the city of Mitrovica. All courses are taught in English.

IBCM was created with the objective of stimulating economic development in the Mitrovica region and improving relations between communities. It currently has students from both the Serbian and Albanian populations, as well as small but growing student populations from the minority Romani, Egyptian, Ashkali and Turkish communities. It seeks to produce young professionals who are comfortable working on EU integration processes in public administration and business.

Degrees[edit]

The IBCM offers EU licensed two-year vocational professional qualifications in line with the Bologna Declaration. Courses are integrated into the European Credit Transfer System, ECTS, allowing students the opportunity to expand their qualification into a BA degree. The diplomas are issued by the Lillebaelt Academy of Professional Higher Education in Denmark.

All students begin their studies with general business courses, and later specialize in Marketing and Management, Public Administration or Environmental and Agricultural Management. Courses are based on European teaching standards, with moderations made to make courses more relevant to the local context. Students must complete a practical internship in line with their chosen specialization, and the College’s European connections allow for international exchange opportunities.
