Francisco Xavier Paulino Dias dos Milagres Bringel (26 January 1952 − 2 January 2019), known professionally as Young Chico, was a Goan singer and tiatrist.[1][2][3][4]

He received awards from the Tiatr Academy of Goa and the Kala Academy Goa.[5][6] He appeared in Ekuch Ghor and Suseg Piddear Kelo; the former starred Alfred Rose.[7] Other appearances include Jawaan.[8]

His son Anthony has also performed as a singer and drummer under the name "Junior Chico".[9][10][11]

Biography[edit]

Francisco Xavier Paulino Dias dos Milagres Bringel was born on 26 January 1952 in Guirim to Emerico and Ida Bringel.[3][2] His grandfather Paulino Dias was a poet.[1]

Chico died of cardiac arrest on 2 January 2019 at GMC hospital in Bambolim after undergoing hip replacement surgery.[1] His funeral was held on 4 January at St Diogo Church in Guirim.[2][12]
