Cole, Schotz, Meisel, Forman & Leonard, P.A. (commonly abbreviated to Cole Schotz) is a mid-sized law firm with offices in New Jersey, New York, Delaware, Maryland and Texas. The headquarters located in Bergen County, NJ represents the largest firm in that county.[1] As of 2010, there are over 120 attorneys who practice in Litigation; Real Estate; Bankruptcy & Corporate Restructuring; Tax, Trusts & Estates; Corporate, Finance & Business Transactions; Employment; Environmental; and Construction Services[2]. The firm is a charter member of Law Firm Alliance [3][4]

History[edit]

The firm was first founded in 1928 by David L. Cole and Mendon Morrill. David Cole was a noted labor arbitrator and mediator, and served as Director of the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service. He counseled every president from Harry S. Truman to Gerald R. Ford in national labor crises. Mendon Morrill had seved with distinction as a judge of the United States District Court[5].

Charity[edit]

Cole Schotz has a strong involvement in charity organizations. For the previous two years, the firm has been the commissioner and organizer for the Battle of the Barristers, a charity softball tournament of which all net proceeds are donated to the Greater Newark Fresh Air Fund. The annual event is the largest annual fundraiser for the fund.[8] The firm also hosts various events throughout the year for the Holley Child Care and Development Center, a children’s residential facility in Hackensack
