► Was given money by sponsors such as kings to write plays “The King’s Men” were Shakespeare’s group of actors who would exclusively perform a play before the King of Scotland

Shakespeare Wrote a Lot ► Wrote at least 37 plays that we know about Shakespeare’s plays are the most performed plays of all time ► Also created a new form of poetry called the Shakespearean Sonnet ► He wrote 154 sonnets and that’s not even counting the ones that are parts of his plays

Shakespearean Sonnets ► 14 lines long ► Follow a particular rhyme scheme: ► A,B,A,B-C,D,C,D-E,F,E,F-GG ► 3 quatrains(stanzas that are four lines long) A,B,A,BONE QUATRAIN C,D,C,DONE QUATRAIN E,F,E,FONE QUATRAIN ► 1 couplet“G,G” (two lines that are next to each other that rhyme with each other).
