RE: Afro-Latin Americans

[edit]

If this isn't an example of "political correctness", I'd like to know what is.

It may or not be, however, it's not up to you to create this conclusion in the text. Please read WP:NOR. "politically correct" is an argument you yourself are adding, not the source you are citing. My suggestion is that you change the text to reflect what your sources state.

  • I concede on this point.

The explanation of the development of Afro American applies equally to the development of Afro Latin American.

Maybe true, but again, you need a source that says this.

  • I disagree about needing a source specific to the complete phrase. Why not allow the citation to remain and allow readers to conclude for themselves whether or not it is relevant?

This is not OR, nor a notion which I share with only a few souls but something which could be easily verified by most anyone who cared to.

It's not up to someone else to verify something; the writer of the text has to. Read WP:A; Snippet: "All material in Wikipedia must be attributable to a reliable, published source." If many people do find the term "Afro-Latin American" politically correct, it shouldn't be hard to find a source that states this. Crumbsucker 15:16, 26 February 2007 (UTC)

  • I see you're interpreting the policy correctly, however you seem to be shifting the application of this point to another issue -- it was referring to the concept of black in relation to the place of origin, not in respect to political correctness.
I'll think about rewriting what you've suggested, but, in the meantime why not give it a whirl yourself?JAXHERE | Talk 15:37, 26 February 2007 (UTC)

Your article Nicola_Umberto_Ciletti has been proposed for deletion "Wikipedia:No_original_research & does NOT include Wikipedia:Reliable_sources for WP:Verifiability of content." Please add references, or it will be deleted.--Parker007 02:32, 2 March 2007 (UTC)

Seems a pity to delete an article such as this but it was not my article. I moved the page from Ciletti to Nicola_Umberto_Ciletti See the history of Ciletti to determine the main contributors of the article. --JAXHERE | Talk 14:18, 2 March 2007 (UTC)

Everything's back

[edit]

I think I've finished putting all the Chilean cities and towns back where they belong. Let me know if there are some I missed that you can't do yourself. Also please let me know if I got overenthusiastic and changed any that should not have been be changed. Cheers. --Scott Davis Talk 13:37, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for the update Scott. I've not had as much time lately to devot to Wiki as before, but I'll review the topic and see if there are any loose ends which I can deal with, and if not will get back to you. --JAXHERE | Talk 14:39, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
