The Faculty of Business Administration(FBA) is one of six faculties at the University of Economics, Prague (VŠE), located within the main university campus in Rajska budova (Prague, Czech Republic. The faculty specializes in teaching and research in fields related to international economic and political relations.

History[edit]

The history of the Faculty dates back to 1953 when the University of Economics, Prague was founded, and within which the Faculty of Production Economics was established; after the 1989 transformation, it transitioned into the Faculty of Business Administration (FBA). The Faculty is one of five faculties of the University of Economics, Prague based at the Zizkov campus; its offices are located in the modern Rajská budova (so-called Paradise Building).

Faculty offers 12 specializations in Bachelor and 13 secondary specializations for Master's study (including selection programs as CEMS, Honors Academia or MBA). Study programs are in Czech, English and Russian according to their degree. Faculty of Business Administration cooperate with more than 60 corporate partners. The only Czech faculty, FPH was awarded the prestigious EQUIS international accreditation, which has so far received only 170 business faculties from the total

32 CEMS Member Schools (1 university for each country is allowed, with the latest addition of the Cornell SC Johnson College of Business to the alliance) educate the best talents from all different parts of the world and backgrounds. Students spend a semester abroad at a CEMS partner university. An integral part of the study is also an internship abroad. TOP RANKED CEMS MIM was ranked 9th in The Economist’s Master in Management Ranking 2017. The programme also consistently ranks in the top 10 of the Financial Times Masters in Management Ranking. In 2018, CEMS ranked 9th. In the QS Masters in Management Rankings 2019 CEMS MIM was ranked 8th.

Taught in English at the EQUIS accredited Faculty of Business Administration the Master in International Management/CEMS provides students with a comprehensive business education to make them fit for starting a career assuming responsibility in the fast-changing environment of global management tasks.

Cooperation with Corporate Partners[edit]

FIR cooperates with various corporate partners. Each field of study has a Strategic Review and Corporate Advisory Board involving top managers and representatives from governmental and other institutions, often themselves FIR alumni. These corporate partners support the development of the faculty by involving experts in teaching, providing consultations for theses and seminar papers, offering internships and specialized practices, as well as with financial support for projects. The faculty’s partners include Globus, Komerční banka, L'Oréal, Procter & Gamble, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

FBA is a member of the International Chamber of Commerce.
