I don't really like most of the welcome templates that are on offer, so some day I will get around to writing one of my own. For the moment, I'll use this slightly edited version of Linuxerist's welcome template, which is pretty good. If you want to use it, just copy it and change the "my talk page" link to point to your own talk page. And remember to sign it!
