The House Jacks is an A Capella group based in San Francisco, CA. They were originally formed by Deke Sharon in September, 1991. According to their motto, they are the "original rock band without instruments." Current band members are Austin Willacy, Roopak (Roo) Ahuja, Antonio Medrano, Deke Sharon and Jake Moulton. They have performed at Stadiums such as Fenway and Candlestick, Theaters like Carnegie Hall and the House of Blues), College campuses, Festivals throughout the United States, Europe and Asia. The House Jacks have performed with a number of artists including Ray Charles, James Brown, Crosby Stills and Nash, the Pointer Sisters, the Temptations, and Run-DMC.

Early years[edit]

The original band members met in the east coast college A Capella scene. They had a similar goal: to create the first rock band to use only their voices. They soon moved to San Francisco and started up The House Jacks. In December of 1991 they won their first award as Grand Prize in the SF International Caroling Competition. The following year they went on to win the Best Group & Best Arrangement prize in the Harmony Sweepstakes A Cappella Festival. In 1996 they performed for then, U.S. President, Bill Clinton.
