Cinda Heeren is an American computer scientist who specializes in data mining. Heeren is lecturer in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.[1] In addition to her research in data mining, Heeren is renowned for her work in discrete mathematics, especially with unique applications of disjoint sets.

Education[edit]

Cinda Heeren earned her M.S. in Mathematics from Stanford University in 1990. Heeren earned her Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2004.[2] Heeren's Ph.D. thesis was entitled Optimization Problems in Data Mining.

Early Work[edit]

Prior to her work at University of Illinois, Cinda Heeren held positions as Lecturer in the Departments of Computer Science, Statistics, and Mathematics at the California Polytechnic State University at San Luis Obispo.[3]
