Carmel School Madhupur[edit]
Carmel School (Hindi: कार्मेल स्कूल) is a full-fledged co-educational, day school affiliated to Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), New Delhi[1] located in the town of Madhupur, Deoghar[2][1] in the State the state of Jharkhand. The school is under the management of the Carmelite Sisters of St. Teresa, a religious and charitable institute.

The school offers residential accommodation to girls in the hostel under the care of the sisters and the boys attend the school as day scholars. The students of Carmel School are referred to as Carmelites. The school also has a neighbouring branch St. Joseph that provides education in Hindi curriculum. Carmel Day is celebrated on 16th of July every year
History[edit]
In June 17th 1959,Rev. Fr. B. Cauhi S.J. the Parish Priest, inaugurated Carmel Convent in the presence of a large gathering, representing the leading citizens and officials of the place. Dr. F. Perier S.J. , Archbishop of Calcutta, purchased the property known as ‘white – hall’ , for the Carmelite Sisters of Ernakulam, Kerala state. Mother Alphonsus, the then Mother General of the Congregation, sent Mother Xaveria and 3 sisters to start the educational institution.The school opened on 1st July 1959 with just 4 pupils . With the continuous efforts of Mother Xaveria, by the end of the year there were 60 pupils and 6 classes.
The school affiliated to the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations New Delhi in 1971, thus encouraging the public to send their children to the Institution. As a result the strength of the school was further increased.The 1st batch of students appeared for the I.C.S.E Examination in 1979 in Madhupur, Deoghar itself.[3]
Golden Jubilee[edit]
The school celebrated its Golden Jubilee on 20th October 2009.
Carmel Kindergarten[edit]
Carmel Kindergarten is the part of Carmel School which is a type of play school divided in LKG and UKG which prepare foundation base for childrens for reading and writing.
Curriculam[edit]
It is affiliated to the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations, New Delhi and prepares the students for the ICSE board examination for class X[4].The admission for new students starts from December and the new session start from the second half of March. It is co-educational and instruction is primarily in English. There are separate kindergarten, Primary, higher section in the campus. Among the facilities provided to the students are a computer laboratory, science laboratories, library, and playground. The classes are from Nursery to Class X. Computer Applications is taught as a compulsory subject from Class III until class IX. In class IX the students have an option of choosing Computer Applications or Economics for their matriculation examination. The school is equipped with a lab having a handful computers for computer literacy and programming courses. The computer courses offered at the school include: GW-BASIC, Java (using the BlueJ IDE), and Logo. The standard Physics, Chemistry and Biology courses are also offered as part of the science curriculum. From Class IX onwards, the students have Physics, Chemistry and Biology Lab for their Practicals. These Practicals helps them in excelling in the Theory Examinations and also in gaining knowledge.
