Skyworks Ltd. ...
Skyworks was started in 2002 by Richard Mervyn. The company specialises in aerial filming and developed the walks format used in the many shows Skyworks has produced for the BBC featuring the presenters Julia Bradbury and Dan Snow. This all started with a drama documentary and initial series concerning the legendary author, walker and illustrator Alfred Wainwright and his walking guides to the English Lake District.
Several series were produced for the BBC, and further shows have been made including a project with Smithsonian Channel.
Skyworks also operates an archive of aerial stock footage from 3 continents. Footage from the Skyworks archive is licensed by many broadcasters around the world.
Recent initiatives with the Technology Strategy Board have propelled Skyworks into the development of interactive web and mobile applications, for the entertainment and travel and tourism sectors.
