Retro Bowl is an American football video game developed by New Star Games for iOS and Android. It was released in January 2020.[1]
Gameplay
[edit]The player acts as coach and general manager between games and controls the offense on the field during games.[2]
Reception
[edit]Retro Bowl received positive reviews from critics. Samer Kalaf of Defector praised the game's replayability and personality.[2] Josh Houtz of Operation Sports stated that the game was one of the best he had ever played on mobile.[3]
The website Pocket Gamer awarded Retro Bowl its Best Sports Game award in 2021.[4]
Spinoffs
[edit]In June 2021, New Star Games released Retro Goal, a soccer game with similar mechanics and art style.[5][6]
