The Battelle National Biodefense Institute (BNBI) is an American non-profit organization. BNBI houses and operates the National Biodefense Analysis and Countermeasures Center for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.[1]

The institute itself also conducts research and development and manufactures several products.[2]

Battelle runs a 160,000-square-foot facility. The campus houses a "Biosafety Level-4 high-security research laboratory, where scientists handle some of the world's most dangerous agents" such as anthrax and Ebola. Scientists also do research on pathogens that don't yet have a treatment or vaccine.[3]
