ePages is an e-commerce solution that allows merchants to create and run online shops in the cloud. The number of shops based on ePages is currently 80,000 worldwide and will rise to 120,000 due to the fact that 1&1 Internet started to use the platform for their shops in 2014.[1]
ePages software is regularly updated by the company of the same name, German ePages GmbH, which is held to 25% by United Internet .[2] The company does not sell directly but distributes its products mainly through hosting providers, such as 1&1 Internet, STRATO or Webfusion brands Host Europe and 123-reg. ePages headquarters are based in Hamburg, with additional offices in London, Barcelona, New York and Jena.

The name ePages was used for the first time for software in 1997 to market "Intershop ePages".[3] In 2002, the Intershop 4 product line was taken over by ePages GmbH and renamed to ePages. [4]
Features[edit]
Depending on the ePages product (Base, Flex, Enterprise, Multistores) and packages offered by hosting providers, merchants can sell up to an unlimited number of items. Users can offer their products and services in 15 languages and with all currencies. With ePages, merchants can use web marketing tools; e.g. newsletters, coupons or social media plug-ins for social commerce. [5] ePages has developed and optimised the shop content’s display on mobile devices [6] and added a filter search feature[7]. Further to this, major online market places such as eBay and Amazon [8], search engines like Google, payment providers such as PayPal and Enterprise resource planning systems such as SAP Business One[9] and Sage Office Line 24[10] are integrated into the software.
