From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Linda Reinstein (b. December 28, 1955, San Diego, CA) is the co-founder of Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization.[1] Since the diagnosis of her husband Allan Reinstein from mesothelioma in 2003, she has become a leading global anti-asbestos activist.[2][3] Reinstein is also primarily responsible for organizing the Asbestos Awareness Conference, an annual international scientific, medical and patient conference now in its 9th year.[4]

Background[edit]

Ms. Reinstein was born in San Diego on December 28, 1955, and spent 35 years working in non-profit organizations. In 2003, Reinstein's husband of 21 years was diagnosed with malignant mesothelioma, passing away from the disease in 2006. Her personal experiences with her husband's terminal cancer inspired her to create an independent, non-profit organization that would advocate for asbestos victims and their families.
