Biography

[edit]

Marco Terragni was born on April 26, 1930 in Paderno Dugnano, from a family of farmers of modest conditions. Thanks to the help of the nuns, he was able to obtain an adequate formation and, in the 50s of the twentieth century, he founded with his brother Dino Terragni (one of the 5 brothers) COVEMA srl, company specialized in the plastic sector. The company had more than 2000 employees and became a world leader in the production of extrusion, thermoforming and plastic injection machinery. Thanks to the success of the company, Marco and Dino also received numerous awards from the Chamber of Commerce of Milan for the export of Covema products abroad. Covema srl has also been the first company in the world to conceive and produce extrusion machines for the production of Rafia. In the mid-eighties and due to some controversy Marco Terragni decided to leave Covema and to found Italproducts that also included Tpa companies specialized in the thermoforming of plastic and Omam Spa, which instead specialized in extrusion. Subsequently, Marco Terragni decided to merge Italproducts, Tpa and Omam spa into a single company, namely Agripak srl, to achieve greater efficiency. At the death of Marco Terragni the reins of Agripak passed to his three sons Fabio, Patrizia and Massimo. Even today Agripak srl operates in the extrusion and thermoforming sector.

Marco Terragni has also published numerous patents on extrusion, thermoforming and plastic injection molding.
