Topic of Video game culture, is relatively new. There has been a rise in popularity in video gaming, and shows evidence of it making its own identity as a culture. In 2011 the Supreme Court ruled that video games were a form of art, and that it was protected under the First Amendment.[1] It is still debated whether or not video games constitutes art, as many art critics including world renowned film critic and jounalist Roger Ebert said "No one in or out of the field has ever been able to cite a game worthy of comparison with the great poets, filmmakers, novelists and poets." [2]. Many state that Video Games are a combinations of diffrent art forms such as: visual, musical, and storytelling.

The culture of gamers have spawned celebrities with in the community. with eSports gaining popularity in ht United States, professional gamers have become a viable profession. Also, the video gaming community have internet celebrities. The most subscribed You Tube channel is Pewdiepie, and other internet celebrities gained popularity through making content on video games:

Early Life[edit]

Joseph Koh's parents immigrated to the United States in 1991. They lived in Flushing New York, where they had their first child Mary Koh, born March 31, 1994. Joseph Koh was born on January 5, 1996. in Federal Way Washington. At an early age, his family moved to the town of Pacific Beach, where his father owned and ran a gas station. Joseph attended Pacific Beach Elementary for pre-school, and in first grade, he briefly attended a private home school near Ocean Shores. After a year in private school, he was re enrolled into Pacific Beach Elementary School for second grade. In the summer of 2004, the Koh family moved to Olympia Washington.

Childhood[edit]

Joseph Koh, and his sister were enrolled into Little Rock Elementary from third sixth grade. later he attended George Washington Bush Middle School, where he become involved in Knowledge Bowl, and competitive scholarly sport. . in 2010, Joseph attended Tumwater High School [3], there, he played Violin for the school Orchestra, and continued involvement in the school's Knowledge Bowl team in 2014, Tumwater High School won the Capitol Region Championship, and made it to the State Semifinals. Joseph also was involved in his school Future Business Leaders of America chapter. He competed at the State Conference and was one of the finalists in the 2014 Business Ethics competition. Throughout his time in Olympia, Joseph Koh provided community service time by volunteering as kitchen staff at Olympia First Baptist Church.

College[edit]

Joseph is now a student at the University of Washington Bothell, whereas of 2015, he is studying for a degree in Engineering. He lives in Kirkland Washington.
