Frederick Slane (13 April 1990 - 12 April 2012) was an archaeologist who was part of the team that discovered the lost Mayan city of El Mirador, home to the world's largest pyramid. He attended Magdalen College School in Brackley, before studying archaeology at the University of Sheffield.

Slane went missing on 12 April 2012, and his body was found in the English village of Turweston several weeks later. The death was not treated as suspicious by the Police. Shortly before his disappearance, Slane posted a series of 8 cryptic YouTube videos. He had been diagnosed with being Bipolar in 2011 and was mentally unsound.
