From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The gender gap is an analytical and empirical construction that arises from the difference between the categories of a variable in relation to male and female rates.[1] It highlights the existing inequalities between men and women in any field in relation to the level of participation, access to opportunities, rights, power and influence, remuneration and benefits, control and use of resources that allow them to guarantee their welfare and human development.[2] Gender gaps are expressed in all areas of economic, social, cultural, health, etc. performance. They are based on the hierarchy of differences between men and women and are expressed differently according to the area in question.
