Russell Hancock (Born ## MONTH, ####) is the President and CEO of Joint Venture: Silicon Valley Network and a lecturer for the Stanford University Public Policy Program.[1]
Education and Career
[edit]Russell received a bachelor's degree in government from Harvard University and a Ph.D. in Political Science from Stanford University.
He was the Vice President for The Bay Area Council from 1995 to 2000. He was the Director of the Shorenstein Forum for Asia-Pacific studies at Stanford University from 2000 to 2003. He served on the Board of Directors for the [New California Network] from 2004 to 2007.
In 2003, Russ was hired as the President and CEO of Joint Venture. Since hired, Russell has founded the State of the Valley Conference, a town meeting style event which draws over 1,000 Silicon Valley leaders each year[2]. In addition, he had increased the number of sectors Joint Venture's initiatives address and built a stronger Board of Directors.[3]
Personal
[edit]Russell grew up in the Seattle area. He was a concert level pianist by the age of 11.[4] He continues to appear on stage as a soloist and as part of the Saint Michael Trio and the Welch Hancock Duo. Hancock lives in Palo Alto, California with his wife and children.
