Third, "The Chariot", was and all-terrain, amphibious tracked vehicle the crew used when they were on a planet. The vehicle was an operational cannibalized version of the Thiokal Snowcat Spryte. The original vehicle was powerful with a Ford 170-cubic-inch inline-6 with 101 horsepower engine. It had a 4-speed automatic transmission including reverse. Test footage filmed of the Chariot for the first season of the series can be seen here on YouTube.

Most of the body panels were clear - including the roof and its dome-shaped "gun hatch" - the Chariot also had retractable mylar curtains for privacy. Both a roof rack for luggage and roof mounted solar batteries were accessible by exterior fixed ladders on either side with a centre hatch on top of the vehicle. The roof also had a swivel-mounted, interior controllable searchlight located near each front corner. The Chariot had six bucket seats (three rows of two seats) for passengers. The interior featured a seismograph, a scanner with infrared capability, a radio transceiver, a public address system and a rifle rack that held four laser rifles vertically against the inside of the left rear body panel.
