Pentecostal Sisters Too[edit]

As a reaction to and solidarity with the Me Too movement first emerging on the public scene in 2006 by sexual harassment survivor and activist Tarana Burke and the subsequent use of the #MeToo hashtag in social media following the allegations of sexual abuse by Harvey Weinstein in 2017 and others, the #PentecostalSistersToo hashtag was used to signal resistance to patriarchy within modern Pentecostal denominations. First publicly annunciated in 2019 at the Society for Pentecostal Studies annual meeting, a group of Pentecostal women and their allies met with the purpose to solidify their basic principles and chart a way forward.
