Unication is a Taiwanese manufacturer and supplier of communications equipment, whose products include alphanumeric pagers, voice pagers, radios and other communications equipment . Its head office for design and manufacturing is located in Xinzhuang, New Taipei City, while it has research facilities in Vancouver and Guangzhou[1]
History
[edit]Unication was founded in 1992. It's headquarters was established in New Taipei City, and the company gradually expanded its production scales and design capabilities within the communications industry, finally building manufacturing partnerships with global corporations such as Motorola, Verizon and Philips.
In 1999, a branch office and an wireless communications software applications R&D team were established in Guangzhou, China, providing a platform for advanced technology, and further extending the capacity of production.
In 2001, in response to business expansion within the corporation, new manufacturing plants were set up in Chongqing, China, expanding the production lines of various types of wireless communication products.
In 2004, a high-end research and development center of wireless communication products was established in Vancouver, Canada, providing development in the technology of two-way handheld devices.
The company also maintains a quality assurance system for communications products, covering both design and manufacturing approved to ISO 9001: 2008.
Unication also operates a marketing office in United States of America, Unication USA. It is located in Arlington, Texas.[2]
Products
[edit]Unication manufactures a variety of communications equipment, including alphanumeric pagers, voice pagers, Two-way radios and repeaters.
Pagers
[edit]Unication's Alpha series of alphanumeric pagers covers both FLEX (protocol) and POCSAG protocols, and have seen use in public safety sectors as well as medical services. They operate on VHF frequency[3], and have single or dual frequency options. The company's voice pager products include the G series voice pagers. The first and most used of the series, G1 is a 64-channel receiver that can receive text and voice, regroup channels remotely, and has the capability to transmit GPS coordinates. As the G1 is designed for use in the public safety sector, it is completely submersible.[4]
Radio Products
[edit]Unication's radio products include the U3 and the U4. The U3 radio can operate on VHF or UHF frequencies, and is able to support both digital and analog technologies; it automatically detects the type of signal and switches the receiving mode. It is also capable of transmitting images, and has GPS capability. It also has the ability to function as a portable repeater to extend the range of operations.
