From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ed Young (Edwin Barry Young) is an author, speaker and senior pastor of Fellowship Church in Grapevine, Texas as well as satellite churches located in Dallas, Fort Worth, Plano and Miami.[1] He played college basketball at Florida State University but left to concentrate on becoming a minister. Young tries to teach on topics relevant to people today, including parenting[2], relationships, sexuality, finances and social issues.[3] Young is an expert contributor to the chemistry.com "Great Mate Debate" and he has been interviewed on Good Morning America, The Today Show, and featured in The Atlantic Monthly and The Wall Street Journal.[4]

Young shares his name with his father, pastor of the Second Baptist Church of Houston, Texas, whose given name is Homer Edwin Young. As both father and son have chosen to go by the name Ed, in order to differentiate between father and son, at times the elder Young is referred to as "Ed Young Sr." while the son is referred to as "Ed Young Jr.". However, this is technically in error, as to qualify as "Senior" and "Junior" the names must be identical, which is not the case here. The Senior Ed Young is referred to in some circles as Dr. Young as he holds a doctorate degree.

Young can be seen on Ed Young Television in the United States, Australia, Europe, Korea and New Zealand. He is also a regular contributor to churchreport.com through the "Ed Expressed" series of articles.[5]
