The American documntry Fil-maker Magan Mulan's 40 minut documentary "Smile Pinki" stars a teenager Pinky sonkar of Mirzapur in Uttarpradesh and narrates her journey from being an social outcast due to her cleft-lip to leading a normal life with the help of a simple surgery by plastic urgeon Dr.Subodh K Singh whic was funded by the NGO smile train.Smile pinki has bagged Oscar in category of Best Documentry(short film) and was being hailed for showcasting the struggle of Indian social workers. A R Rahman scripted history by becoming fist Indian to win two Oscars for the Best Original Score " Slumdog Millionaire and its foot-tapping song"Jai Ho".
