Maniyanis (മണിയാണി ) are the yadavas in kerala.They belonged to kshatriya varna in the varna system of hinduism . So Maniyanis are the kshatriyas of Kerala. Maniyanis are belived to be the descendants ofYadu ,which is one among the ancient indian clans mentioned in the epic mahabharatha .Maniyanis are belived to be migrated fromGokarnnam to north kerala.They were the land lords (janmi) in north kerala.Maniyanis are also known as kolayan and erumans.Earlier hindu kingdoms of malabar mooshaksvamsa and kolathiris were kolayans.All they are worshiping lord Krishna as their forefather.Mother godess concept is prevalent among them as they worship Thiruvarkat bhagavathi theyyam(തായ് പര ദേവത) and Kannangattu bhagavathi( കണ്ണങ്ങാട്ടു ഭഗവതി )
