User:decltype/Userpage

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hi, I am decltype (pronounced /dɛkltɑɪp/), an editor on the English Wikipedia. I made my first contribution on 18 December 2005, and have made occasional edits since then. In June 2009 I was nominated for adminship, eventually becoming an administrator. This has made a lot of people very angry and has been widely regarded as a bad move.

Administrative activities

I am probably most active in the field of speedy deletion, and patrolling of new pages. On occasion, I will block persistent vandals reported to WP:AIV. I also participate in pages needing translation, and will personally translate from any of the Scandinavian languages (except Sami) to English.

Considering the widespread use of tools such as Twinkle, I do not see a problem with most users having rollback. Thus, I will honor most requests for rollback, as long as the user is in good standing, and has at least some experience with vandalism reverts. As for the autoreviewer user right; I only grant this to users who consistently create new articles that meet our content policies and guidelines.

With the exception of attack pages and copyright violations, I'll be happy to provide copies of deleted articles, either via e-mail, or userfication.

Articles

I usually stick to writing articles on actors, films, musical ensembles, and C++ programming, occasionally delving into other areas. In the interest of improving Wikipedia's coverage on C++, I am offering a (non-monetary) reward to anyone that contributes C++-related content that qualifies for Did you know, or meets the Good article criteria. For more information, see this or ask at my talk page.
