Lake Wesauking new article content ... Lake Wesauking is believed to mean "place of rising mists" in the native amercan language spoken by Iriquois tribes that inhabited the area. Lake Wesauking is a 62.7 acre spring fed Glacial lake nestled in the Endless Mountains of Northeastern Pennsylvania. It has a maximum depth of 73 feet and holds 686,230,122 gallons of water. Originally privately owned by two farming families and called Allen's Lake, it became a small summer holiday spot in the 1930's and 40's for residents of Philadelphia and New York City. The "Lake Wesauking Lodge" was torn down in the 1950's. Today, it is owned by members of the Lake Wesauking association. It is now a summer or full time residence to many local families.
