Notes[edit]

  1. ^ McGregor opted for a rematch with Nate Diaz at Welterweight in Aug 2016 as opposed to a title defence against Frankie Edgar. McGregor was replaced by former champion Jose Aldo, who also wanted a title shot.
  2. ^ Jose Aldo was booked to rematch Ricardo Lamas in Dec 2017. However, after Frankie Edgar was injured before his fight with Max Holloway in Dec 2017, Aldo was offered the rematch and title shot against Holloway. Aldo was replaced by Josh Emmett.
  3. ^ McGregor was expected to defend his belt against Nurmagomedov following UFC 215, however he instead took a hiatus. An interim title fight between Nurmagomedov & Ferguson was booked.
  4. ^ Nurmagomedov withdrew from the Ferguson bout due to weight cutting issues, and Ferguson rejected Michael Johnson as a replacement, resulting in the cancellation of the bout.
  5. ^ Lee replaced Nurmagomedov and fought against Ferguson for the interim title later on in the year.
