Darian “DP” Pollard is an American music management executive, a former A&R executive and music supervisor. He is CEO Partner of DP Music Entertainment Group since 2000.

Darian "DP" Pollard (born April 21, 1975) is an American music executive, and entertainment entrepreneur. He is the CEO of the multi-media entertainment company DP Music Entertainment Group, best known for music management and music supervision for Sony Pictures and television Love & Hip Hop.[1][2]

Early life[edit]

DP was born and raised on the south side of Chicago in a single parent household with his two brothers Dujuan and David, and still considers it his hometown. DP currently residing in Los Angeles. DP was heavily into his studies and achieve academic awards for his achievements. DP's childhood bounced him from the Chicago City Projects to the south-side Chatham, Chicago neighborhood, where he grew up from the time he was in the first grade. At the age of 7, he found a love for music. With the guidance of his late uncle Kenneth Pollard, DP’s love for music nurtured into more on the business side of music.


With an undeveloped passion to singing skills he gravitated to when he joined the children's choir at New Covenant Baptist Church [3] , it wasn't until high school that he discovered his innate love for the music business. Utilizing his experience with music, DP turned to the business side of the music business.

Music Career[edit]

Shortly before starting college, Darian began an internship at Arista Records. He later worked at Jibe Records then later DeathRow Records in Los Angeles, CA. He later moved to Sony where he began his career as a music supervisor working on major motion picture film/TV projects for Sony Pictures/Columbia Tri-Star/ScreenGems: Da Vinci Code, Hitch, Memoirs Of A Geisha, White Chicks, XXX.[4] [5], XXX: State of the Union, Spider-Man, SpiderMan 2, Spider-Man 3, Return of Zoom, Are We Done Yet?, Love Monkey (TV), Yours, Mine and Ours, Running With Scissors, Across the Universe, Little Man, Stranger Than Fiction, Surf’s Up, Open Season, Catch And Release, All The Kings Men, Closer.[6] [7], Bewitched, The Grudge, Lords Of Dogtown, The Gospel, Stealth, Dirty, Exorcism of Emily Rose, Underworld, You Got Served, Stomp The Yard.[8]

The demo album’s success landed a 5-day recording session at the acclaimed Clear Track Studios in Clearwater, Florida. These sessions yielded the 4-track eponymous Jett Prescott EP, mastered by Scott Hull.[8] The independently released EP now sees worldwide rotation on Pandora Internet Radio.[9] Music Connection favorably reviewed the EP[5] and went on to name Jett Prescott #2 among the top 25 new artists from 2013,[10] which followed a homepage feature on music mega-site ReverbNation.[11] “Put Me Down in Wine” was voted #1 on TRS24/7 Radio,[12] received high praise from SongOfTheYear.com,[13] and VEVO independently published the official music video.[14] The indie track continues to get airplay on radio networks including Sirius XMU, The Darryn Yates Show, RevolverUnderground, The Emerge Radio Networks, and GagOrder Network. Jett Prescott revealed in recent interviews with “New Music Inferno”[15] and red-carpet celebrity interviewer Jeffrey Henderson[16] that he has relocated to Los Angeles from the east coast to focus on the recording of his first full-length album, expected to be released in 2016. Locals can find Jett performing venues such as The Lighthouse Café and Hollywood’s “The Piano Bar”.[17]
