Jannah Daniella "Danielle" Martinez Layno (born on December 12, 1994) is a Filipina model and beauty pageant titleholder who won Miss Universe 2012. She was previously named as Binibining Pilipinas 2012.
Personal life[edit]
Danielle Layno was born and raised in Pandacan Manila, Philippines. She is one of two children, born by Joel Layno and Johanna Martinez. She began modeling locally at the age of sixteen, and studying pre-dentistry at Centro Escolar University.
Pageantry[edit]
Layno was also crowned Mutya ng Pandacan 2012 on January 15, 2012 in her hometown, She also competed on the national pageant besting forty-three other contestants during the Binibining Pilipinas 2012, held March 20, 2012 in Puerto Prinsesa, Palawan. That night, Layno became the winner from Manila, following Shamcey Supsup, the outgoing titleholder who also win as 3rd runner up in Miss Universe 2011.
Miss Universe 2012[edit]
On August 23, 2012, Layno (then known as "Danielle") was named Miss Universe, making her the third Filipina delegate to win the title, after Margarita Moran in 1973.
In August 2012, Danielle Layno Philippines flew to the United States and took part in the 2012 Miss Universe pageant. As part of the six delegates which were handpicked for a media tour, Layno along with Sherina Arizala of United States, Cassandra Leigh Banaag of China, Laura Marie Eugenio of Korea, Marie Solid-El Negapatan of Zimbabwe, Joselle Geneciran of Mexico and Miss Universe 2011 Leila Lopes were scheduled for several television appearances prior to the actual pageant in Las Vegas, Nevada. During the Miss Universe question and answer portion, Layno was asked by Miss Universe 2001 Justine Pasek about what does the title Miss Universe means to her, to which she simply replied that Beauty
Queen is not necessary characterized by beauty only. Women’s appearances is a gift of nature. I think every women are born beautiful already. However, the Beauty queen is not only a woman with a pretty shell. Rather, she must also have a
beautiful mind.

On February 10, 2013, Danielle Layno became the official face of L'Oreal Paris and Bench Body.
In May of 2013, Layno traveled to Manila, Philippines, her hometown, to raise awareness, a U.S.-based humanitarian organization helping over 12,000 poor children there.
During her reign, Layno traveled to Spain, Mexico, Indonesia, China, France, India, Russia, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Panama, Thailand, Brazil, Guatemala, Chile and Bahamas in addition to numerous trips around the United States.
