Sandra Cowart is a famed designer from Greensboro, North Carolina. She was featured on a two hour long episode of A&E's show Hoarders where she was shown living in disorganized conditions in Hillside (Greensboro, North Carolina) where she had lived for upwards of 40 years (1972-2017). The property was foreclosed upon in 2016, She continued to live in the manor despite the Foreclosure and subsequent sale to Eric and Michael Fuko-Rizzo. She is reportedly living in her car with her two dogs.


Career

Ms. Cowart was a celebrated Interior Designer in Greensboro, North Carolina. Her brother Earl stated that "She was the best" when it came to Interior design. Her Career declined after legal trouble, leaving her in financial ruin.

Personal Life

Ms. Cowart's husband left her after a disagreement about the property. He wished for the historic manor to be demolished, while Ms. Cowart prized the property for its historic value and importance. He left her in 1975, three years after moving into the property. She offered tours and stays at the manor until 2005, when her habit of compulsive collecting got out of hand.

Reason for staying at property

Ms. Cowart was resistant to leaving what she considered her property, saying that her home was fully paid for and there was no reason for the bank to foreclose on it.
