  • Keller, Yvonne. “‘Was It Right to Love Her Brother’s Wife so Passionately?’: Lesbian Pulp Novels and U.S. Lesbian Identity, 1950-1965.” American Quarterly 57, no. 2 (2005): 385–410. http://www.jstor.org/stable/40068271.
    • an article exploring lesbian pulp novels and the growth of lesbian identity in the United States through the early 60s. It is a peer-reviewed article from American Quarterly, so it should be a reliable insight into the creation of this type of lesbian identity.
  • Cain, Patricia A. “Litigating for Lesbian and Gay Rights: A Legal History.” Virginia Law Review 79, no. 7 (1993): 1551–1641. https://doi.org/10.2307/1073382.
    • A law review regarding legal rights of gays and lesbians throughout history, going back to before the stonewall riots. I think it might be good to establish the existence of the lesbian subculture and specific rights. On the other hand, it might be to law-specific and not provide proof of many social movements
  • Betty Luther Hillman. “‘The Clothes I Wear Help Me to Know My Own Power’: The Politics of Gender Presentation in the Era of Women’s Liberation.” Frontiers: A Journal of Women Studies 34, no. 2 (2013): 155–85. https://doi.org/10.5250/fronjwomestud.34.2.0155.
    • An article from a women's history journal about the womens lib movement and the beginning of a subculture of gender presentation in the 1960s.
  • Alix Genter. “Appearances Can Be Deceiving: Butch-Femme Fashion and Queer Legibility in New York City, 1945–1969.” Feminist Studies 42, no. 3 (2016): 604–31. https://doi.org/10.15767/feministstudies.42.3.0604.
    • again, a feminist historical journal article about sexuality and gender presentation through clothing. I think it will specifically benefit my article because it discusses the rise of lesbian subculture and identifiability connecting to the broader sexual revolutions of the 60s.
  • "46. The Woman- Identified Woman: Radicalesbians", 46. The Woman- Identified Woman: Radicalesbians, New York University Press, pp. 221–226, 2018-04-03, doi:10.18574/nyu/9781479805419.003.0050, ISBN 978-1-4798-0541-9, retrieved 2024-03-07
    • a copy of The Woman Identified Woman, which I discuss under the lesbian women's movement in the article

Bolster the "Gay Rights and the "undocumented" sexual revolution" part of the article by adding perspectives of lesbian subcultures who participated in the women's liberation movement as well as the gay rights movement.

Also add to "The Women's Movement" header as well- add more depth/complexity regarding the different types of feminists and their protests in the 1960s regarding the sexual revolution. Currently the article only mentions Betty Friedan's Feminine Mystique- I think it would be beneficial to add other theorists and perspectives from the feminists of the 60s- like Shlamuth Firestone and
