Afghanistan

Article 62 of the Constitution of Afghanistan of 2004 states that a candidate for the office of President must be a Muslim citizen of Afghanistan.

Indonesia

2008 Law No. 42 Regarding Presidential and Vice-Presidential ElectionsThe presidential candidate must be Mindful of God.

Ireland

While there are no religious restrictions elected officials in Ireland are required to take the oath "in the presence of almighty god"

Lebanon

Although unwritten the National Pact of Lebanon states that:

• The President of the Republic and the Commander of the Lebanese Armed Forces always be Maronite Catholic.
• The Prime Minister of the Republic always be a Sunni Muslim.
• The Speaker of the Parliament always be a Shia Muslim.
• The Deputy Speaker of the Parliament and the Deputy Prime Minister always be Greek Orthodox Christian.
• The Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces always be a Druze.
• There always be a ratio of 6:5 in favour of Christians to Muslims in the Lebanese Parliament.

Norway

Paragraph 4 in the Constitution of Norway states that the Sovereign Monarch must be confessing the Lutheran Evangelical Religion.

Pakistan

The Constitution of Pakistan states that both the President of Pakistan and the Prime Minister of Pakistan are required to be of the Islamic Faith.

Somalia

Article 88 of the Constitution of Somalia requires the president of Somalia to "Being a Somali citizen and a Muslim;".

United Kingdom

In the United Kingdom the Monarch is the supreme governor of the Church of England. In Scotland the Monarch is required to be an ordinary member of the Church of Scotland.

Members of parliament are required to swear allegiance to the queen. Previously Members were required make a religious swearing Oaths Act 1888 changed this allowing MPs to to make solemn affirmation insted.
