Home and Away is an Australian television soap opera. It was first broadcast on the Seven Network on 17 January 1988. The following is a list of characters that first appeared during 2007, by order of first appearance. The 20th season of Home and Away began airing from 15 January 2007. Kelli Vale and Lisa Duffy played respectively by Alexa Ashton and Jessica McNamee, were the first introductions of the year in January. Ethan Black, played by Patrick Brammall arrived in February. Ashley Lyons joined the cast as Cam Reynolds the same month. Tiffany Preece began appearing in May as Naomi Preston. Bruce Campbell, played by Chris Haywood, and his grandchildren Geoff (Lincoln Lewis) and Annie (Charlotte Best) debuted in June. Damian De Montemas arrived as Henk Van Patten in August as did Josh Helman as Denni Maitland. Gabrielle Scollay was introduced in September as Tamsyn Armstrong, half-sister of Rachel and Brad. Model Simone McAullay debuted in October as Viv Anderson. Steven Vidler, Conrad Coleby, Paul Gleeson and Josh Quong Tart arrived as Noel Anderson, Roman Harris, Larry Jefferies and Miles Copeland in November.

Kelli Vale, played by Alexa Ashton made her first appearance on 22 January 2007.

Kelli plans to ruin Amanda's life as revenge for a car accident she caused that left her with injuries when they were younger. She hires Clyde Dale (Mark Constable), a Private Investigator to follow Amanda. Kelli then stages a plan to kidnap Amanda's daughter, Belle Taylor (Jessica Tovey). She then pretends she knows where Belle's location is and she returns. The next phase of Kelli's plan is to make it seem as if Amanda has cheated on her partner, Peter Baker (Nicholas Bishop). However, Peter and Amanda get engaged.

Kelli then enlists her boyfriend Ethan Black (Patrick Brammall) to drug Amanda and make it seems as if they have slept together. Ethan begins bribing Amanda to steal morphine vials from the hospital. Amanda then meets up with Ethan but kicks him and tries to drive away. He grabs onto the car and and is dragged along, he falls and is not moving. Kelli goes back to check a pulse and tells Amanda she cannot feel one. Amanda suggests she turns herself in but Kelli stops her.

Belle slowly figures out Kelli's plan and realises she was the one behind the kidnapping. Amanda and Kelli's mother, Kitty Landsdowne (Geraldine Turner) arrives ahead of the wedding. She overhears a conversation between Kelli and Ethan and Kelli nearly kills her by drugging her wine but pays her off. The wedding day arrives and Ethan arrives after the vows and asks the guests to look under their seats. The guests find pictures of Amanda and Ethan together. Everyone is left in shock and Peter leaves Amanda. Kelli is pleased but continues her campaign by trying to drug Amanda's juice which Belle drinks. Amanda overhears Kelli and Ethan and talking and then flees with Kelli in hot pursuit of her. She runs her off the road and attempts to burn her alive in the car but Peter saves her. In hospital, Amanda tells Kelli to get some help, just before she is arrested and charged with her crimes.

The Daily Record described Ashton's acting as "pantomime-villain style.[1] At the 2008 Digital Spy awards, Ashton was nominated for the "Villain of the Year award" and Kelli's revenge against Amanda was nominated for "Best Storyline".[2]

Lisa Duffy, played by Jessica McNamee,[3], made her first on-screen appearance on 22 January 2007. The character departed on 24 August 2007.

Lisa dates her classmate Drew Curtis (Bobby Morley) and goes with him to at a Hawaiian night held at the surf club. Drew is clearly using Lisa to make his ex-girlfriend Belle Taylor (Jessica Tovey), who is now dating Lucas Holden (Rhys Wakefield), jealous. Lisa suspects Drew and Belle still care for each other and gives Drew time to think. He choses Lisa, but still has his mind on Belle. Drew later admits this and Belle throws a glass of water over him.

She then exposes a photo of Drew and Belle kissing to the whole class, much to the upset of Lucas, who initially refused to believe her when she told him about the kiss. Lisa reappears, several months later dating Denni Maitland (Josh Helman) as means of revenge on Drew for hurting her and get him involved in illegal drag races. Lisa regrests getting involved with Denni and then turns to Lucas for comfort. They sleep together and Denni is angry when he finds out. Lisa tries calming him down but he forces her into his car and chases after Lucas in hot pursuit. Lisa wrestles the wheel from Denni but they crash, causing the car to roll off the road.[4]. Lisa suffers a head injury and is taken to the city hospital, where she later dies.

A memorial is held on the beach in Lisa's honour, and Lucas devotes a portion of his novel to Lisa.

Ethan Black[edit]

Ethan Black, played by Patrick Brammall[5] made his first appearance on 5 March 2007.

Ethan is the boyfriend of Kelli Vale (Alexa Ashton), the younger sister of Amanda Vale (Holly Brisley). He helps Kelli in her scheme to destroy Amanda's life for a car accident that left Kelli injured and Amanda barely harmed.

Ethan meets Amanda on the Highway after her car breaks down and helps her to fix it. He asks Amanda out on a dae but she rejects him, saying she is engaged. He later arrives at Amanda's house as a caterer for Amanda's party and lets her fiancee Peter Baker (Nicholas Bishop) know he asked her out, causing friction between them. Amanda then leaves and meets Ethan in the Surf Club and gets drunk. The next morning, to her shock, Amanda wakes up next to Ethan in bed.

Ethan takes photos of them in bed and threatens to show Peter Amanda steals morphine from the hospital in order to sell it. Amanda, left with no choice, complies. After a confrontation with Amanda, Ethan fakes his own death. He and Kelli continue to play mind games with Amanda. Ethan reappears on Amanda and Peter's wedding day where the photos are exposed. Several weeks later Amanda's discovers Kelli and Ethan's scheme and both are eventually arrested.

Cam Reynolds[edit]

Cameron "Cam" Reynolds, played by Ashley Lyons, made his first appearance on 27 February 2007 and departed on 15 May 2007.

Cam meets Martha MacKenzie (Jodi Gordon) at Noah's bar in the Surf Club and helps her deal with some customers who begins harrassing her. He then asks her on a date which she accepts. Martha then takes a job working for Cam at his nightspot; The Rocket Club as a bartender after he offers her a generous wage.

Cam soon asks Martha to fill in for one of his pole dancers but she is reluctant. He soon talks her around and Martha agrees, but only for one night. That night Martha is greeted with a shock when Peter Baker (Nicholas Bishop) arrives for his stag party in a group that includes her cousin Ric Dalby (Mark Furze) and estranged husband Jack Holden (Paul O'Brien). Ric confronts Cam but Cam tells him Martha is dancing of her own accord.

Alf Stewart (Ray Meagher), Martha's grandfather disapproves of Martha's new job. It becomes apparent the club is failing and Jack suspects drugs are being dealt on the premises. Martha is shocked to find that Cindy (Genevieve Hegney), one of Cam's dancers is the mother of his daughter, Crystal (Savannah Lind) but forgives him when he explains that he was in a relationship with Cindy a few years earlier, was not serious and he is supporting her and Crystal financially.

Falling into debt and desperate for money, Cam steals from the Bayside diner to pay off his debts but it is not enough. In an act of desperation Cam burns the club, but does not realise Martha is inside. Cam tries to flee town but Jack collars him and he is arrested.

Naomi Preston[edit]

Naomi Preston, played by Tiffany Preece made her first appearance on 5 May 2007. Preece began filming on the serial in late February.[6]

Naomi arrives in Summer Bay after having spent some time at a writer's camp with Lucas Holden (Rhys Wakefield). It soon emerges they were both involved and Lucas had lied about beigng a University Student. Matters are further complicated when Naomi takes a job at Summer Bay High teaching English. Naomi confronts him about it, only to end up kissing him. Naomi rejects Lucas telling him nothing can happen as she is now his teacher. On her first day, Lucas acts up in Naomi's class.

Lucas' father Tony (Jon Sivewright) asks Naomi out for a drink and they begin to get on well. Lucas witness Tony giving Naomi a surfing lesson and is jealous. Naomi and Tony then sleep together. However, the truth about Lucas and Naomi's relationship is discovered and Tony is shocked. Lucas learns about Naomi and Tony sleeping together and is upset.

Brad Armstrong (Chris Sadrinna) offers Naomi a permanent job at the school, which she accepts. Lucas' older brother Jack (Paul O'Brien) warns Brad that it would be illegal to employ Naomi and explains about her involvement with Lucas. The story makes local news and the Education department become involved. Naomi leaves but it later emerges that she has changed her story to make it seem Brad knew all along. He then confronts her but She blackmails him after learning he was fired from his previous school for drug posession on the premise and threatens to disclose this unless he complies with her new story.

Naomi later leaves but returns to take out an AVO against Lucas after he begins hounding her. He then shows her a story based on her relationship he has been working on and she is impressed. However, Lucas tells her he needed to write this as a way of moving on from her. She assures him life is not so Black before leaving. Lucas later burns the story.

Jazz Curtis[edit]

Jacinta 'Jazz' Curtis , played by Rachel Gordon. She made her first on-screen appearance on 18 June 2007, and left on 3 October the same year. She returned on 27 February 2008 For her portrayal of Jazz, Gordon received a nomination for "Best Newcomer" at the first Digital Spy Soap Awards.[7]

Bruce Campbell, played by Chris Haywood, made his first appearance on 19 July 2007. Bruce is widower who lives on a farm outside Summer Bay with his grandchildren Geoff (Lincoln Lewis) and Annie (Charlotte Best). Bruce threatens Jack Holden (Paul O'Brien) and Martha MacKenzie (Jodi Gordon) with his shotgun when they have a picnic on his land and they are forced to retreat. Sally Fletcher (Kate Ritchie) suggests Geoff and Annie attend school but Bruce is against it and tells her the bible and farm work are all the education his grandchildren need.

Geoff and Annie eventually begin attending Summer Bay High, but Bruce feels that they are neglecting their duties on the farm. When Annie falls asleep on Lucas Holden's (Rhys Wakefield) bed after an an exhausting assignment, Bruce is enraged and warns him off. When he finds Annie with a teen magazine containing a sex and relationships section, Bruce looks her in her room and forces her to pray. The children eventually move in with Irene Roberts (Lynne McGranger) and Bruce continues to work hard on the farm and battles heart problems.

Geof tries to convince Bruce to stop working and sell the farm by secretly poisoning some of the sheep on the farm. Bruce decides to lie in wait with a shotgun and opens fire. He spots a figure running and opens fire. He is shocked when he finds out he has shot Geoff in the leg and further upset when he discovers the poison. Bruce later suffers a heart attack after collapsing one day at the farm. He hires Michael Abraham (James Mitchell) also known as Jonah, to oversee things on the farm.

Bruce mellows and decides to attend Geoff's rugby match and supports him. Later that day, while Annie, Geoff, Martha, Lucas and Michael work on the farm. Bruce collapses and dies. Shortly after his death, Michael tells Annie and Geoff that Bruce had made him Geoff and Annie's legal guardian and guardian of the farm. He is buried several days later.

Geoff Campbell[edit]

Geoff Campbell played by Lincoln Lewis, made his first on screen appearance on 20 June 2007.[8] Angela Cuming of The Sun-Herald reported Lewis' casting three days before his character's debut.[8] For his portrayal of Geoff, Lewis won the Most Popular New Male Talent Logie Award in 2008.[9] That same year, he was nominated for Best Newcomer at the Inside Soap Awards.[10]

Annie Campbell[edit]

Annie Campbell, played by Charlotte Best, made her first on screen appearance on 20 June 2007. Best was fifteen when she joined the cast and her family relocated with her to Beacon Hill, New South Wales, to accommodate her filming requirements.[11][12] In 2010, Best left the series to concentrate on her studies. Annie's exit storyline consisted of her leaving to study in Japan as part of an exchange student programme.[12] A writer from RTÉ.ie said that Annie is a "innocent farm girl" who would "have her life turned on its head" upon her arrival.[11] Annie was described on the serial's official website as being "bright and unusual.[13] For her portrayal of Annie, Best was nominated in the category of "Most Popular New Female Talent" at the 2008 Logie Awards.[14] A writer from Holy Soap described her most memorable moment as "finally breaking out of her tough grandfather's shadow and becoming a Summer Bay woman."[15]

Denni Maitland, played by Josh Helman, made his first appearance on 7 August 2007 and departed on 27 August 2007. This was Helman's first professional role.[16] "I auditioned for a role as a love interest but they made me the resident dickhead," he said, "and I loved Home and Away. I was scared because it was my first professional role, and they were so nice to me.". While filming his last episode of Home and Away, Helman found out that he had landed a role in The Pacifi .[16]

Denni is Lisa Duffy's (Jessica McNamee) boyfriend. He challenges Drew Curtis (Bobby Morley) to a drag race. Drew refuses at first but complies when Denni steals his car. Denni loses the race after his car overheats but he refuses to return the car and tells him the result will only count if both cars cross the finish line. He then orders Lisa into joining him on the next race. Denni finds Lisa has spent the night with Lucas Holden (Rhys Wakefield) and is enraged. Drew and Ric Dalby (Mark Furze) drag Lucas away and take off in Drew's car. Denni chases after them and rams them from behind. Lisa grabs the wheel and he loses control of the car causing them to crash. Lisa dies of her injuries and Lucas and Denni blame each other. Lucas attempts to smother Denni with a pillow but his father, Tony (Jon Sivewright) drags him from the room. Denni is then charged with culpable driving.

Henk Van Patten, played by Damian De Montemas made his first appearence on 13 August 2007.[17]

Henk arrives to be Brad Armstrong's best man at his wedding to Sally Fletcher (Kate Ritchie). Brad's sister, Rachel (Amy Mathews) is against Henk attending the wedding. Rachel confides in Leah Patterson-Baker (Ada Nicodemou) that Henk raped her while they were on holiday in Fiji eight years earlier. Martha MacKenzie (Jodi Gordon) takes a liking to Henk and kisses him but he reebuffs her. When Rachel sees Henk leaving the Diner flat the next day, she jumps to conclusions. Martha tells her that Henk is staying with her while he is in town. Henk tries to get Rachel to forgive him.

Cassie Turner (Sharni Vinson) is attracted to Henk but he pushes her away. However, as the wedding approaches, They kiss. Rachel tries to warn Cassie away from Henk but she will not listen. Rachel then tells Brad about the rape and he angrily punches Henk sending him down the stairs, injuring him. In hospital, Cassie tells Henk she still wants to be with him in spite of what he did to Rachel. Henk is then transferred to another hospital and later leaves, upsetting Cassie.

Henk returns and proposes to Cassie after she tells him she is pregnant with his baby. She accepts and he is happy. However, Henk recieves shocking news; He is is HIV-positive. Cassie discovers that she is also HIV-positive after a blood test. Henk leaves after he visits Cassie in hospital after she is hit by a car. He visits Cassie one more time and they part after sharing one final kiss.

Tamsyn "Tam" Armstrong, played by Gabrielle Scollay made her first appearence on 18 September 2007. Prior to joining the serial, Scollay appeared in Blue Water High. [18]

Tam arrives in Summer Bay and steals a picture of Rachel Armstrong (Amy Mathews) and takes Jack Holden's (Paul O'Brien) post. Jack later breaks into a car when he discovers the post and Rachel's picture. Tam's mother, Heather McCabe (Olivia Pigeot) questions Jack and he tells her he found things from his house in her car.

Tam and Heather meet Rachel and her brother, Brad (Chris Sadrinna). Heather explains that Tam is their half-sister as a result of an affair she had with their father, Robert (John Gregg) during his marriage to their mother Elaine (Julie Hudspeth). Heather, after explaining that she has a gambling addiction and needs someone to to look after Tam for a while.

Tam struggles to adjust to Rachel as a guardian and begins playing up, so Rachel hands over care to Brad. She is unimpressed when she has to lodge with Brad at a motel and makes up a lie that Brad is her teacher holding her against her will. The police intervene after a neighbour calls and arrest Brad. Tam admits the truth and Brad is cleared.

Tam takes a liking to Geoff Campbell (Lincoln Lewis) but his sister, Annie warns him off her. She takes revenge on her by telling Annie that Lucas Holden (Rhys Wakefield) likes her. Tam then sets her sights on Aden Jefferies (Todd Lasance). Heather returns seemingly recovered and scores a job at the diner but begins stealing to gamble. Tam begins stealing to cover the money but Heather wins it back.

Tam gets closer to Aden, who then gets her drunk on the beach and records the footage for his friends and sends it on. The whole school soon finds out and Tam is humiliated. When Brad gets a job in Tasmania, he suggests Tam and Heather join him and they do.

Viv Anderson[edit]

Vivian "Viv" Anderson, played by Simone McAullay made her first appearence on 22 October 2007. MacAullay's casting was announced in 2007. Viv was introduced to seduce Ric Dalby (Mark Furze).[19]

At the end of her first stint, McAullay spoke to The Courier-Mail about working with co-star Ray Meagher, who plays Ric's grandfather Alf Stewart. "I got to do one scene with Alf where he actually said, "flamin' mongrel". I said to him, 'I have been waiting my whole career to hear you say that on set'. He just laughed." She also felt she could not relate to her character for sleeping with Ric. "I couldn't relate to that part of the character at all," she admitted, laughing. "I am not really a pursuer. I like to be the pursued."[20]

Viv arrives at Ray Moran's (Damien Garvey) garage where Ric works. Her husband, Noel (Steven Vidler) is a customer of the garage. She is attracted to Ric and begins sending him text messages. She begins trying to seduce Ric away from his girlfriend Matilda Hunter (Indiana Evans) but Ric rejects her. Ric, not wanting to lose Noel as a client for the garge, keeps quiet. Viv jumps into the shower at the garage with Ric one day in order to seduce him but rejects her once more. She continues texting him and Noel finds out and threatens Ric, prompting Matilda to suspect there is something going on with him and Viv. Matilda dumps Ric and he eventually sleeps with Viv. Viv falls pregnant and informs Ric but tells him he will having nothing to do with the baby before leaving Summer Bay.

Several months later, Viv returns, fleeing Noel after he returns home drunk and gets violent with her. She visits Ric who is hospitalized with pnuemonia and informs him the baby is suffering from severe abnormalities and Noel is pressuring her to have an abortion. Noel continues his threats and Viv fears for the baby's life. When Noel apologises Viv is quick to accept and returns home with him. Ric, who is being blackmailed into illegal fighting by Noel, tells Viv to leave him but she refuses as Noel has financial security. She tries to flee Noel but is held hostage and dragged to the fight by him. During the fight, Viv collapses and is rushed to hospital after Rachel Armstrong (Amy Mathews) calls an ambulance. Viv later miscarries and she, Ric and Matilda hold a memorial service to say goodbye to the baby. Viv then leaves Summer Bay.

Noel Anderson[edit]

Noel Anderson, played by Steven Vidler made his first appearence on 8 November 2007.

Noel is a wealthy client of Ray Moran's (Damien Garvey) garage in Yabbie Creek. He is impressed with the work Ric Dalby (Mark Furze) has done on his wife Viv's (Simone McAullay) car and invites him and Matilda Hunter (Indiana Evans) for dinner. He makes a pass at Matilda until Ric points out he is his girlfriend. Noel reappears several days later after Viv leaves him and turns up at Summer Bay House looking for and threatens Ric. Noel later learns Viv is pregnant and Ric is the father. He offers him money to stay out of Viv and the baby's lives. He tells Ric that this is a set up to get Viv pregnant as he cannot have kids. Ric refuses and Noel arranges for Ric to be beaten but it backfires when Ric beats up the heavy sent after him.

Noel begins using his influence around town to get Ray to fire Ric and has his car destroyed. He offers Ric a spot in an illegal fight ring. To tighten his grip on Ric, he arranges a robbery of Summer Bay House. Ric then accepts. Noel books Ric against Logan Roth (Radek Jonak), a henchman of Johnny Cooper (Callan Mulvey). However, Ric collapses during a match due to pnuemonia and Noel is accused of match fixing by some punters who have bet a lot of money on Ric to win. The fight is rescheduled and to make sure Ric complies, Noel holds Viv hostage. However, Viv collapses and an ambulance arrives causing everyone to flee the building. Noel's creditors close in and Noel, with his back against the wall, demands Ric and Logan fight at gunpoint in order for him to get his money. He threatens to shoot Alf Stewart (Ray Meagher) but he is arrested by Jack Holden and Lara Fitzgerald (Rebecca George). Noel comes looking for Viv, but two men come looking for Noel. Ric assumes Noel has been disposed of but it is later confirmed he has been spotted on CCTV boarding a flight elsewhere.

Larry Jefferies, played by Paul Gleeson, made his first appearance on 22 November 2007. He is the father of Aden Jefferies (Todd Lasance) and his brothers Sean (Gabriel Egan) and Justin (Matthew Walker).

Larry arrives at Northern District hospital when he learns Aden and his cousin Simon (Chris Foy) have been admitted following a car crash. Larry blames Cassie Turner (Sharni Vinson), the driver for the accident.

Larry's relationship with Aden collapses when Aden confronts him about not protecting him when his late grandfather, Stan sexually molested him as a child. Larry's denials only serve to anger Aden who smashed up the house. Aden then runs away but is then found in the ruins of the beachside diner after suffering an injury when the roof caves in. Aden is hospitalized and briefly loses his memory, much to Larry's relief. Roman Harris (Conrad Coleby) encourages Larry to tell Aden the truth. Larry confides in Rachel Armstrong (Amy Mathews) that he had suspected his father was abusing Aden and his older brother Justin but did nothing about. He tells Aden the trth but he reacts badly and throws him out.

Aden moves in with Roman and Larry tries to build bridges by taking a job as a security guard in Yabbie Creek alongside Ric Dalby (Mark Furze). It becomes clear Larry is drinking on the job. When Kane Phillips (Sam Atwell) robs a jewellery store, he injures Larry in the process. Aden is supportive until he learns Larry has been drinking and turns his back on him. Larry struggles with alcoholism and later steals Belle Taylor's (Jessica Tovey) savings.

Larry's alcoholism escalated and he drives drunk one day and crashes into Jai Fernandez (Jordan Rodrigues) and Axel Hay (Trent Dalzell, knocking them off of Matilda Hunter's (Indiana Evans) scooter. He flees the scene and Axel dies in hospital of his injuries. Larry destroys the car and asks Aden for help but he refuses to have anything to do with him. However, Aden relents and moves back home. When Larry confesses Stan abused him in his own childhood, Aden snaps and holds him hostage in the house, denying him access to medical treatment. Rachel and Belle intervene but Aden holds them hostage too. The police arrive and Larry is hospitalized under police guard. He signs an affidavit which helps Aden's case in court. Larry is later jailed for reckless driving.

Two years later, it is revealed in flashbacks that Justin and Larry were involved in a car accident on their way back to the bay, swerving to avoid a Kangaroo and Larry was fatally injured. Justin panicked and buried Larry's body. When Justin and Aden attempt to move the body, they face manslaughter charges but Justin regains his memory and they are cleared when Larry's dying voicemail to Aden is discovered on his mobile.

Roman Harris[edit]

Roman Harris, played by Conrad Coleby debuted on-screen during the episode airing on 30 November 2007. In 2009, Coleby’s departure from the series was announced after Producers decided not to renew his contract.[21] He told TV Week "Well, it wasn't my decision, But I'm happy about it now. I can see why they decided to end the Roman character. He had a finite story arc. There was always something about Roman that was a bit dark, so they explored that and unfortunately went too far for him to carry on."[22] Coleby later joined the cast of Sea Patrol.[23]

Miles Copeland[edit]

Miles Copeland, played by Josh Quong Tart debuted on-screen during the episode airing on 30 November 2007. Miles was introduced to Home and Away in 2007, as Sally Fletcher's (Kate Ritchie) brother, whom she had always referred to as "Milco". For twenty years, viewers had been led to assume Milco was just Sally's imaginary friend.[24] Channel Seven ran an on-air promotion campaign, which promised viewers "a 20-year-old mystery" would be solved.[25] In the 2007 season finale, Miles mysteriously arrives in Summer Bay and writes "Milco" in the sand on the beach.[25] Quong Tart was cast in the role of Miles.[26] For his portrayal of Miles, Quong Tart was nominated for "Best Newcomer" at the 2008 Inside Soap Awards.[27] The following year he received a nomination for "Best Actor".[28] At the 2011 Inside Soap Awards he was nominated for "Best Daytime Star".[29] The episode where Miles conquers his fear of water to save Jai Fernandez who feigns drowning earned Writer Sean Nash an Australian Writer's Guild award nomination for "Best Television Serial" in 2009.[30] The episode featuring Miles finally letting go of his visions of Rabbit won the Australian Writers' Guild Award in the same category the following year and was presented to the episode's writer, Sam Meikle.[31]

After Belle argues with Drew Curtis (Bobby Morley), she leaves and accepts a lift home from Theo. As they talk, Theo drives past Belle's house and locks the doors. Belle struggles to get free but Theo overpowers her and takes her to an abandoned property and leaves her with Clyde.
22 January-11 February Clyde Dale Mark Constable[32] Clyde is a Private Investigator hired by Kelli Vale (Alexa Ashton) to follow her sister Amanda Vale (Holly Brisley) around. He steals Amanda's shares portfolio and hires Theo Barrett to kidnap Amanda's daughter Belle Taylor (Jessica Tovey). Clyde later blackmails Kelli for $5000 or otherwise he will tell Amanda and the police. Kelli pays him and he drives out of town but Belle recognises him. When Clyde meets with Ethan Black (Patrick Brammall), he encourages him to leave the country but Clyde refuses. Ethan and Clyde fight, resulting in Clyde dying after he falls and hits himself. Ethan later disposes of Clyde's body and writes a fake sucide claiming that Clyde could no longer live with the guilt of kidnapping Belle.
15 February Mick Donalds Adam Moulds[33] Mick is a member of Johnny Cooper's (Callan Mulvey) gang. He phones Ric Dalby (Mark Furze) and tells him he has information on who killed Johnny's brother, Rocco (Ian Meadows). Ric meets Mick and Mick tells him that Johnny had ordered a man named Dave Carson to beat Rocco. He then tells Ric that he left the gang and needs to flee and will give a police statement in exchange for $3,000 and a ticket to Perth. Ric gets the ticket and the money but Mick denies everything. Ric realises has veen up and Mick continues to deny and leaves, mockingly wishing Ric luck for his trial.
20 February Guard Duncan Brendan Clearkin[34] Duncan is a guard at the prison where Ric Dalby (Mark Furze) and Johnny Cooper (Callan Mulvey) are incarcerated. He escorts Ric back to his cell after visiting hours and objects when Ric's girlfriend, Matilda Hunter (Indiana Evans) kisses him goodbye.
20-27 February Guard Jones Warwick Young[34] Jones is a guard at the prison where Ric Dalby (Mark Furze) and Johnny Cooper (Callan Mulvey) are incarcerated. He helps Ric after Johnny and his gang attack him. Jones later plants drugs on Ric and takes a bribe from Johnny. Ric's friends devise a plan; Lucas Holden disguises himself as a tattooed gang member who gives Jones some information that the muderer of Johnny's brother, Rocco is about to confess. Jones is then taken in for questioning by Peter Baker (Nicholas Bishop) and is confident nobody will take Lucas' word over his until Peter brings in Lucas who no longer has a tattoo. After learning he will lose his job and face jail, Jones makes a full confession.
23 February-5 May James Dalton Gyton Grantley[35] James is Kit Hunter's (Amy Mizzi) ex-boyfriend. He follows her to Summer Bay and is surprised to learn Kit is pregnant. James believes he is the father of the child but Kit reassures him that he is not. James takes a job as a nurse at Northern Districts Hospital. Kim Hyde (Chris Hemsworth) baby's father, feels weird when James agrees to look after Kit and the baby. James and Kit resume their relationship but the cracks are evident when James begins smoking dope to cope with the stress of long hours. Kit is shocked but accepts it as long as James does not smoke in the house. His habit gets out of hand when he turns up to work high, nearly endangering a patient. Rachel Armstrong (Amy Mathews) reports James and he is suspended. James suffers a breakdown and kidnaps, Kit telling her he will never leave her. Kim is able to save the day and James is hospitalised. He apologises for his behaviour before leaving town to attend rehab.
12 March-15 May Cindy Thomas Genevieve Hegney Cindy is the bar manager of the Rocket Club. She is unimpressed when Cam Renolds (Ashley Lyons) gives Martha MacKenzie (Jodi Gordon) a job but begins respecting her when she deals with a difficult customer. She encorages a reluctant Martha to begin dancing at the club and invents a story that a dancer has pulled out and they need a substitute. Martha agrees. She later asks Martha to look after her eight-year-old daughter, Crystal (Savannah Lind). Cindy helps Cam hide some drugs which Cam plants on Martha. When the club begins failing financially, Cam sets the place alight and Cindy is prepared to give him an alibi but withdraws when she learns that Martha has narrowly escaped death in the fire. She then gives a statement against Cam.
30 March-4 May Lily Nelson Kathryn Beck[36] Lily meets Cassie Turner (Sharni Vinson) via the Summer Bay Telephone Helpline. Lily tells Cassie she is in an abusive relatiohsip with her boyfriend Kyle Sanders). Cassie, having been in a similar situation with Macca MacKenzie (Trent Baines). Lily moves in with Cassie at Summer Bay House but is forced to return home when her mother Brenda (Anni Finsterer) comes looking for her. Cassie then goes to Lily's house but Kyle comes home and the girls hide. Kyle is arrested and Brenda is displeased as she believes Kyle has been looking after them.Jules Munroe takes a liking to Lily but is unable to save her when she dives in to save Matilda Hunter (Indiana Evans) from drowning. Ric Dalby (Mark Furze) saves the girls. After several days in hospital, Lily decides to leave Summer Bay to make a fresh start and stand on her own two feet.
5-11 April Kyle Sanders Anthony Gee[37] Kyle is Lily Nelson's (Kathryn Beck) boyfriend. He becomes increasingly irritated when Lily begins spending time away from the home and attacks her. After Lily escapes, Kyle follows her to Summer Bay along with her mother, Brenda (Anni Finsterer). Lily complies with Kylie despite Cassie Turner (Sharni Vinson) knowing the truth. Lily escapes once again but Kyle, after being bailed finds her and takes her hostage. Sally Fletcher (Kate Ritchie) volunteers her car and throws the keys to him. Lily feigns a movement to pick up to keys but uses a spray bottle to temporarily blind Kyle. He is then arrested by the police.
9 April-1 May Brenda Nelson Anni Finsterer[38] Brenda is Lily Nelson's (Kathryn Beck) mother. She arrives at Summer Bay House to take her daught home. Brenda refuses to believe Lily is being abused by her live-in boyfriend, Kyle Sanders (Anthony Gee). She manipulates Lily into thinking she is making it up and Lily returns home with her. Brenda is unimpressed when Kyle is arrested and she pays his bail. When Brenda visits Lily in a hospital after an incident where she nearly, Lily tells her she does not want to see her and Brenda leaves.
9 April Crystal Thomas Savannah Lind [38] Crystal is the daughter of Cindy Thomas (Genevieve Hegney) and Cam Reynolds (Ashley Lyons). Martha MacKenzie (Jodi Gordon) babysits her foor the day. Crystal tells Martha she knows a secret about Cam - He is her father. It is revealed Cam had a one night stand with Cindy which resulted in Crystal's conception and he had agreed to help them financially.

Rowan is a drug dealer who works for Cam Renolds (Ashley Lyons) at the Rocket Club. Cam orders him to sell drugs but not in the club. He then frames Martha MacKenzie (Jodi Gordon) for drug poseesion after her exstranged husband Jack Holden (Paul O'Brien) arranges a bust on the club. He later conducts a deal with Jack about destroying some evidence. Jack refuses but Rowan threatens to reveal a conversation about framing cam. Jack complies and tells Rowan he never wants to see or hear from him again.
17 April-27 June Jules Munroe Joel Phillips[1] Drew Curtis]] (Bobby Morley) from boarding school. He arrives in Summer Bay on a stolen motorcycle and makes advances towards Belle Taylor (Jessica Tovey) and Leah Patterson-Baker (Ada Nicodemou). He attempts to make a move on Lily Nelson (Kathryn Beck) but Cassie Turner (Sharni Vinson) prevents him. While on beach one day, Lily and Matilda Hunter (Indiana Evans) are in need of rescue, Jules stands on the sand watching in shock. Ric Dalby (Mark Furze) rescues the girls but berates Jules for standing there. Jules reveals his girlfriend had drowned and was unable to save her. He tries leaving but Drew's father, Peter Baker (Nicholas Bishop) brings him back. Jules reacts badly when Cassie discovers a love letter he wrote to Lily and takes revenge by putting up posters cartooning her as "Saint Cassie" and sabotages her assignment. Cassie gets revenge by shortening the legs of his chair but Jules swaps the chair with their teacher Brad Armstrong (Chris Sadrinna). The animosity between Jules and Cassie thaws and they begin dating. Jules becomes jealous of Cassie's admiration of Alex Poulos (Danny Raco) and steals Alex's bike, wrecking it. He is spared when Drew convinces Alex to drop the charges.Jazz Curtis (Rachel Gordon), Drew's mother arrives, causing Jules to feel nervous. It emerges that Jules had made a pass at her when he was younger. Jazz tells Cassie and Drew everything and Jules leaves town, dejected.
23 April-11 May Lou Baines Lani Tupu[39] Lou is a potential investor for the Rocket Club. Cam Reynolds (Ashley Lyons) the club's owner offers to have Martha MacKenzie (Jodi Gordon) dance for Lou but she does not show up when she learns of Beth Hunter's (Clarissa House) death. Cam urges Lou to return the following week. When Lou returns he gropes Martha, much to her disgust. When Lou arrives to finalize the deal, he tries to forces himself on Martha. Cam makes the save when Martha screams and an angry Lou tears up the contract and leaves the club.

Archie is the son of Kim Hyde (Chris Hemsworth) and Kit Hunter (Amy Mizzi). He is born when his parents are stranded in the bush. The joy of his birth is couple with the sadness of the death of his grandmother Beth (Clarissa House) in a car accident. Archie has a health scare when his temperature begins to rise and takes him to see Rachel Armstrong (Amy Mathews) who thinks Kit is worried for no reason. However, Archie's condition is worse and he is diagnosed with a viral infection. He later recovers and when Kim decides to leave Rachel, he joins Kit and Archie in the city.
1-14 May Terry Mitchell Garry Waddell Terry is a loan shark. Cam Reynolds (Ashley Lyons) calls on him when his nightclub begins struggling. Cam borrows $10,000 and is only able to repay a fifth of the money. Terry is unimpressed and demands the full $10,000 or he will sieze the club as payment. Cam is unable to make the payments and Terry forces him to sign the club over. Terry makes plans to relaunch the club, but Cam sets fire to the place.
18-23 May Ingrid Lynch Leigh Shorten[40] Ingrid meets Hugh Sullivan (Rodger Corser) while on a night out. They get on well and spend the night together. Several days later, Ingrid turns up to see Hugh but he is out so she questions Rachel Armstrong (Amy Mathews) about him. After Hugh lets her down gently, Ingrid realises that he is still in love with Rachel.

He admonishes Brad and tells him his first duty of care should have been to his student Lucas. Laing then stands Brad down from his role as principal pending further investigation.
9-10 July Jane Wallis Wendy Strehlow Jane is the school inspector who arrives at Summer Bay to investigate allegations against

Brad Armstrong (Chris Sadrinna) and Naomi Preston (Tiffany Preece).

24-25 July Shane Deeks Mike Duncan[42] Shane is Sam Tolhurst's (Jessica Chapnik) ex-husband and the father of their son Rory (Jack Richard). When Shane's father dies, he is granted day release for the funeral and absconds. He enlists the help of Bronwyn (Julia Davis) to kidnap Rory. Bronwyn poses as a lifeguard and asks Rory to help carry some equipment to her van. Rory helps her but Bronwyn locks the doors and drives off. Bronwyn is later apprehended by the water police and told she is responsible if anything has happened to Rory. However, Rory is eventually found safe and well.

27 July-21 September Dane Jordans Myles Pollard[43] Dane is Jazz Curtis' (Rachel Gordon) lawyer who represents her in her divorce case against her husband, Kevin Freeman (Simon Bossell). He informs her that her son Drew (Bobby Morley) is the sole inheritor of her late mother's estate. Jazz later flirts with Dane and sleeps with him in a ploy to obtain the will. Dane leaves but reappears trying to convince Jazz to tell Drew the truth about the will. Morag Bellingham (Cornelia Frances) who knows Dane, reveals the truth to Drew. Jazz tries to contest the will but settles for a mediation. Jazz wins an appeal after telling a story learning her mother was not of sound mind when the will was written. When Dane learns Jazz slept with the manager of her mother's nursing home, he feels she has gone too far and walks out of her life.
22 August-13 November Izzy Harkins Mia Thomas Izzy is a Year 12 Student who attends a meeting organised by Donald Fisher (Norman Coburn) to discuss the Senior Formal. Izzy later attends the formal and she is upset after being ditched by Aden Jefferies (Todd Lasance) and takes her bad mood out on Cassie Turner (Sharni Vinson). Her mood is not helped when a drunken Sean Evans (Burgess Abernathy) knocks her over a food table during a power cut, ruining her dress in the process.
4 September-22 October 2009 Kris Bentos George Rafael[44] Kris is a doctor at Northern Districts hospital who tends to Henk Van Patten (Damian De Montemas after he suffers a fall after being punched by Brad Armstrong (Chris Sadrinna). He later treats Pippa Saunders) after she is accidentally run over by Alf Stewart (Ray Meagher). Kris also diagnoses Martha MacKenzie (Jodi Gordon) with cancer and tends to Geoff Campbell (Lincoln Lewis) when he his run over and is present when Ruby Buckton (Rebecca Breeds) is diagnosed with diabetes.
17 September-14 February 2008 John Hall Paul Tassone[45] Hall is a Reverend at St. James Church and the Campbell family are part of his congregation. He presides over the funeral of Bruce (Chris Haywood) and gives his grandchildren Geoff (Lincoln Lewis) and Annie (Charlotte Best) support and guidance. He later marries Jack Holden (Paul O'Brien) and Sam Tolhurst (Jessica Chapnik). Hall is later revealed as the hospital attacker when he walks Rachel Armstrong (Amy Mathews) home and holds her hostage. He tells her this is his retaliation against 'loose women'. Rachel tries reasoning with Hall but he attacks her. She is able to fight him off but he falls and hits his head. Hall is rushed to hospital and diagnosed with a Brain tumour. He is strapped down but convinces Geoff who visits him to release him from his bonds. Hall escapes after knocking out a police guard and stealing his uniform. Annie tries reasoning with him but he tries to commit suicide. Geoff and Roman Harris (Conrad Coleby) arrive to stop him. Hall is then taken to surgery but complications leave him brain dead and his life support machine is switched off. His death causes Annie to lose her faith.
19 September-13 November Heather McCabe Olivia Pigeot Heather is the mother of Tamsyn Armstrong (Gabrielle Scollay). She tells Tam's half-siblings Brad (Chris Sadrinna) and Rachel (Amy Mathews) that She had began seeing their father, Robert (John Gregg) when he told her he was having problems in his marriage to their mother, Elaine (Julie Hudspeth). Heather asks Brad and Rachel to look after to Tam and leaves for retreat to get over her gambling addiction. Several weeks later, Heather returns seemingly clean but falls back into her old ways by gambling money she steals from the diner. She wins back what she stole but Tam is unimpressed. She takes a job at Northern District's hospital with Rachel's help. When Brad is offered a job in Tasmania, He suggests Heather and Tam join him. The three of them soon leave Summer Bay.
27 September Kevin Freeman Simon Bossell[46] Kevin is Jazz Curtis' (Rachel Gordon) husband. He arrives in Summer Bay with his daughters Bree (Rebecca Karslake) and Essie (Charlotte Karslake) when Jazz tells him she wants to give their marriage another chance. Jazz's son, Drew (Bobby Morley) tells Kevin that Jazz is putting on an act but he ignores him. Drew challenges Kevin over Jazz sending Bree to boarding school but again he refuses to listen. Jazz's affair with Tony Holden (Jon Sivewright) is revealed and despite her protests, Kevin walks away for good.

28 September-24 October George Watson Paul Barry[47] George is a police officer at Yabbie Creek Police Station who is partnered with Jack Holden (Paul O'Brien). He is witness to Jack's plan to get Martha MacKenzie'(Jodi Gordon) off drug possession charges by destroying the evidence. It soon becomes apparent George is corrupt and takes bribes. Jack tries several attempts to bring down George but is foiled. George later enlists Colin Marshall (Nathan Page) to commit a bank robbery in which George pretends to be taken hostage. As Colin escapes the bank, George shoots ands kills him. Jack tails George and is shot too, rendering him comatose. George then tries to frame Jack, but Martha, a witness to the robbery recognises George's voice and turns him in. He tries to silence Martha but Lara Fitzgerald (Rebecca George) arrests him.
1 October-16 November Lewis Rigg Luke Carroll[48] Lewis begins working at Northern Districts Hospital as an intern alongside Rachel Armstrong (Amy Mathews) and there is an instant attraction between them. However, neither of them realise their relationship to one another until the morning after. They agree to end the relationship as it would be unprofessional. Lewis clashes with Sam Tolhurst (Jessica Chapnik) over patient care. After Lewis makes a few mistakes, Sam threatens to report him but he retaliates by telling her he will make life difficult for her if she does. Rachel resigns as Lewis' supervisor and they resume their relationship. After Marie Cashman(Lara Cox), a nurse is attacked, Lewis is under suspicions as he had been arguing with her beforehand. He urges her to tell the police the truth. Lewis is arrested but exonerated when Marie regains her memory. Rachel then falls pregnant with Lewis' baby but miscarries. They later part when Lewis takes a surgical placement elsewhere.
5-22 October Marie Cashman Lara Cox[49] Marie is an intern at Northern Districts who starts in the same week as Lewis Rigg (Luke Carroll), whom she previously dated in medical school. She begins to suspect Rachel Armstrong (Amy Mathews) is giving Lewis preferential treatment due to her relationship with Lewis. There is some animosity between the three of them. When Marie is later attacked near the surf club, Lewis is a suspect due to his heated argument with her. She has no recollection of the accident and warns Lewis to stay away, further fuelling suspicions. Marie's memory returns and her statement to the police exonerates Lewis.
11-17 October Jessie Watson Jordanna Beatty[50] Jessie is George Watson's (Paul Barry) daughter. She is an wheelchair due to debilitating illness. Lewis Rigg (Luke Carroll) treats her. Sam Tolhurst (Jessica Chapnik) offers Jessie some physio at a barbecue for her 12th birthday.
17-23 October Colin Marshall Nathan Page[51] Colin is a criminal associate of police officer George Watson (Paul Barry). George invites him to his barbecue which Jack Holden (Paul O'Brien) attends with Rory Tolhurst. Later, Colin robs a local bank and forces the manager Frank McIntosh (Cameron Stewart) to open the safe. He flees with the money but when he gets into his car, George shoots him in the chest, killing him and claims it was self-defence but Jack arrests George.
22-23 October Frank McIntosh Cameron Stewart[52] Frank is a local Bank Manager who arrives at the Campbell farm to supervise the reposession of the property. He tells Bruce Campbell's (Chris Haywood) grandchildren Geoff (Lincoln Lewis) and Annie (Charlotte Best) that Bruce had failed to make loan repayments and therefore will be seizing the farm. He returns to find Geoff, Annie, Michael Abraham (James Mitchell) and Martha MacKenzie (Jodi Gordon) removing some posessions and has them arrested. The following day, Frank relents and agrees to let them recover the remainder of Geoff and Annie's things but Colin Marshall (Nathan Page) arrives with at the bank with a gun and demands money from the safe. Frank complies but does not let him know Martha is there.
31 October-1 November Gwen Stacy Saskia Smith[53] Gwen offers Dan Baker ((Tim Campbell)) a job in the United States. Dan's wife Leah Patterson-Baker (Ada Nicodemou) misinterprets their meeting as an affair until Dan explains the situation.
13 November Sean Evans Burgess Abernethy[54] Sean asks Cassie Turner (Sharni Vinson) to the Year 12 formal and she accepts. However, their date is a disaster as he constantly sends her text messages and tells the whole school about their date. Cassie begins to regret accepting. At the formal, Cassie tries avoiding Sean and he begins getting drunk as a result. He wins the 'Bill Gates Award for Excellence in Being a Cyber Geek' and falls off stage when he collects the award. Things go from bad to worse when the power is cut and Sean drunkenly stumbles and falls onto a table of food which is sent flying onto Izzy Harkins (Mia Smith). He then vomits on Cassie.
21-27 November Simon Jefferies Chris Foy[55] Simon is Aden Jefferies' (Todd Lasance) cousin. He and his friends arrive for Schoolies and begin staying at the Carvan Park much to the irritation of landlady Sally Fletcher (Kate Ritchie). Simon invites Matilda Hunter to a party and later purchases alcohol from [Drew Curtis (Home and Away)|Drew Curtis]] (Bobby Morley) at Noah's Bar with a fake ID and $300 cash. At the end of the party, Simon is drunk so Cassie Turner (Sharni Vinson) takes his place as designated driver and drives an overloaded car containing herself, Aden, Simon, Matilda and several of Aden's friends. When the boys begin passing around a marijuana joint, Cassie tells them to put it out but fails to pay attention to the road and crashes. Aden is injured in the crash and Simon leans on Cassie to change her statement when interviewed by the police. He apologises to Matilda for his behaviour and she accepts and begins hanging around with him to spite Ric Dalby (Mark Furze). They spend the night together. Ric tells Matilda Simon is the prosecution's main witness against Cassie and he will say Cassie was smoking the dope. On the day of the trial Matilda confronts Simon and he tells her does not want a criminal record as he wants to be a lawyer. Simon eventually changes his story and Cassie escapes with her license suspended for a year.
