Bisoro is a commune in the Province of Mwaro. It is located in the South of the Province and is bodered by the communes of Matana, Nyarusange, Ryansoro, Gisozi and Kayokwe. This commune has one the highest scolarisation rates in the Province and indeed in the whole Burundi

• Has the very first local college to have been built from public contribution rather than burundian government funding

• Has the very first Association for Natives in the history of Burundi, AACOBI in short, presided by Terence Ndikumasabo

• Has more colleges than most communes in Burundi

• Has at least a primary school on each collineunlike most communes of Burundi

• Enjoys more than 2 climatic zones namely Kirimiro, Mugamba, and Bututsi

• The very first commune to have had a female administrator (in 1993 after the first democratic elections in Burundi)
