Saul Tendler is the Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Provost of the University of York<https://www.york.ac.uk/about/organisation/management/meeting-the-board/saul-tendler/" />. He joined the University in 2015, having previously been at the University of Nottingham< https://www.nottingham.ac.uk> . He previously was Nottingham's Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Research and also PVC for Teaching and Learning. Prior to this he was Head of the School of Pharmacy.

His academic background is Pharmacy, he studied at Manchester University and subsequently obtained his PhD at Aston University. His research area is bimolecular interactions and molecular biophysics. With colleagues he established Nottingham's Laboratory of Biophysics and Surface Analysis. At York, Saul is responsible for Planning, International activities and also Philanthropy.
