From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Clearvision is a software development company with headquarters located in Southampton, UK, and offices in the UK, Ireland and USA. Clearvision offers licensing, consulting, training, support, and development and branding services for Atlassian and Open Source tools. Clearvision has been part of the UK Government G-Cloud Digital Marketplace since 2013.[1]

About[edit]

Clearvision was founded in 2005 by CEO and MD Gerald Tombs to work in IBM Rational consultancy. Clearvision also began developing its own plugins and solutions alongside its consultancy services.

In 2007, Clearvision formed a partnership with Atlassian, a Sydney-based software company. The company also began to work with Open Source DVCS software solutions such as Git, Subversion and Mercurial.

By 2007, Clearvision had launched its own browser-based Application Lifecycle Management tool, AgileSCM. This has since been retired, but its permission control and repository management features formed the basis of Spectrum, a PaaS solution. Version 1.0 of Spectrum was released in 2014.

In 2015, Clearvision launched the Affiliate Contractors Programme[2] for contractors with Atlassian skills.

Spectrum[edit]

Spectrum is an Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) framework developed by Clearvision. It is the company's flagship product and was first released in 2014.

The Spectrum platform integrates commercial and Open Source tools with Agile processes. Spectrum is comprised of a dashboard style Workbench and features components developed for each stage of the application lifecycle.

Partnership with Atlassian[edit]

Clearvision partnered with Atlassian and became a member of Atlassian's "Atlassian Expert" partner programme in 2007.[3]

In 2012 Clearvision became first European partner labelled by Atlassian as "Enterprise Ready". In 2014, Atlassian presented Clearvision with another accreditation, naming the company "Git Essentials enabled".

In addition to this, Clearvision has received a number of awards from Atlassian[4] in recognition of its licence sales and consultancy work, winning four of a possible twelve awards at Atlassian's 2014 Summit event.[5]
