I'm a writer and editor in my day job and a writer and editor in my real life, too. I've contributed occasionally to the wiki in the past, but decided it couldn't hurt to start an account here.

I've just published an unauthorized biography titled The Prince of War: Billy Graham's Crusade for a Wholly Christian Empire (Brave Ulysses Books, 2007), and consider myself to be an expert on Graham's ministry and particularly his politics. I've spent several years in his and the presidential archives, working with a team of researchers to unearth and assemble a very different story than is usually presented by Graham's many apologists.

I am reasonably expert on Asheville, Buncombe County and North Carolina public affairs, having been an investigative reporter here for 20 years. I also published and co-authored the best selling guide: Finding Your Way in Asheville (Brave Ulysses Books, 2005).

I'm also involved in the media reform movement and host a weekly radio show Blows Against the Empire on wpvm.org (9 to noon every Friday).
