Carmarthen Park is located in Carmarthen, the county town of Carmarthenshire in southwest Wales. Since its opening in April 1900, Carmarthen Park has been the focus for a variety of cultural and leisure activities enjoyed by the local community. It is valued as a relatively unchanged part of Carmarthen, a town that has evolved and changed significantly in recent decades. The park retains almost all its original features, including the velodrome, grandstand, bandstand, entrance gates and Lodge. The open, south-facing landscape of the park, which originally enjoyed views across the Towy Valley, is enhanced by tree planting.
