Background[edit]

Before Tercer Cielo began recording they only gave small performances at churches. After living in various places they began to attract attention, thanks to the song "Ella y él," and there came a need to record their songs. They received the support of the Christian label Estribillo Music, still new itself, with whom they made their first album En ti, named after the song "En ti no dejaré de creer" included on the album. The first songs they recorded were "Ella y él," "El rapto," "En ti no dejaré de creer," and "Contigo estoy." In the first half of 2000 they published the album in their country nearly a year after having created the group. The album contains 10 songs written and co-produced by the duo.

El rapto (The Rapture)[edit]

"The Rapture", the first single from the album, featured the rapper Redimi2. The song describes an apocalyptic scene where a crying child narrates that his family, friends and acquaintances who were Christians had gone with Jesus to Heaven, leaving a message to the people of repentance. At the end they believe they have to give their lives to Jesus before the Antichrist shows his signal and they are made to suffer. A sample of the single.

"Once there was someone who descended from heaven, preached freedom, and healed many. Few believed him, many did not. This is a story that begins on Earth and ends in the Third Heaven."

Ella y él (She and he)[edit]

The second single from the album, which made the duo famous, was "Ella y él," written by Juan Carlos Rodriguez. It describes a young girl that abandoned her Christian faith for a world that offered pain and suffering with her boyfriend.
