Welcome to WikiProject Vancouver!
[edit]
Welcome to WikiProject Vancouver! Hello, Canadianshoper/talk achival, and welcome to WikiProject Vancouver! I'm glad you have decided to join our group of Vancouver-based Wikipedians, which is growing all the time. Be sure to stop by the WikiProject page for any updates or if you want to see how you can help out -- we keep a "to do" list there, and we'd appreciate any help we can get. Greater Vancouver is a very happening place and hopefully, with your help, we can increase its presence here on Wikipedia and show the world what this beautiful corner of Canada is all about. Again, welcome! I hope we see or hear from you soon and often. :) |

A tag has been placed on Bump , (a shooting game played with two basketballs), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be a biographical account about a person, group of people, or band, but it does not indicate how or why he/she/they is/are notable. If you can indicate why Bump , (a shooting game played with two basketballs) is really notable, I advise you to edit the article promptly, and also put a note on Talk:Bump , (a shooting game played with two basketballs). Any admin should check for such edits before deleting the article. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Please read our criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 7 under Articles. You might also want to read our general biography criteria. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. To contest the tagging and request that admins should wait a while for you to assert his/her/their notability, please affix the template {{hangon}}
to the page, and then immediately add such an assertion. It is also a very good idea to add citations from reliable sources to ensure that your article will be verifiable.-- SonicAD (talk) 02:26, 27 May 2006 (UTC)
- Well, it's been moved to Bump (game) - at least, I recognize it! :-) --HappyCamper 02:41, 27 May 2006 (UTC)
The article has been proposed for deletion (not by me, but by someone else) because it doesn't explain why the mall is notable. My suggestion would be to expand it so it looks more complete. You can consult Lansdowne Park Shopping Centre or Richmond Centre (mall) for examples. I'd love to see an article for Capilano Mall, but it's no use if it doesn't show why the mall is notable. :) -→Buchanan-Hermit™/!? 00:49, 31 May 2006 (UTC)
- Hope you don't mind, but I took the liberty of almost re-doing the Capilano Mall article. It should be good enough now to prevent another nomination for deletion. -→Buchanan-Hermit™/!? 02:47, 31 May 2006 (UTC)

Welcome to Esperanza!
[edit]Welcome, Canadianshoper, to Esperanza! As you might know, all the Esperanzians share one important goal: the success of this encyclopedia. Within that, we then attempt to strengthen the community bonds, and be the "approachable" side of the project. All of our ideals are held in the Charter, the governing document of the association.
Now that you are a member you should read the guide to what to do now or you may be interested in some of our programs. A quite important program is Stressbusters, which seeks to support editors who have encountered any stress from their Wikipedia events, and are seeking to leave the project. So far, Esperanza can be credited with the support and retention of several users. We will send you newsletters to keep you up to date. Also, we have a calendar of special events, member birthdays, and other holidays that you can add to and follow.
In addition to these projects, several more missions of Esperanza are in development, and are currently being created at Esperanza/Proposals.
If you have any other questions, concerns, comments, or general ideas, Esperanzian or otherwise, know that you can always contact Natalya by email or talk page. Consider introducing yourself at the Esperanza talk page! Alternatively, you could communicate with fellow users via our IRC channel, #wikipedia-esperanza (which is also good for a fun chat or two :). If you're new to IRC, you may find help at an IRC tutorial. I thank you for joining Esperanza, and look forward to working with you in making Wikipedia a better place to work!

Your User Page
[edit]Perhaps my user page isn't fantastic, but hey, I like it. I'll design you a new page in my sandbox, and show it to you when I'm done. Daniel_123 ► ► 14:04, 10 September 2006 (UTC) if you need any help with signatures, well I rock there too. Daniel_123 ► ► 14:04, 10 September 2006 (UTC)
User page completed!
[edit]Your user page has been totally awsomeified, if that's a word, which I don't believe it is. I trimmed down the user boxes to a few of the more signifigant ones, I put an awesome color to the headlines, and I put a Wikipedia Signpost sibscription in the corner. I also changed the milestone section to be more informative. Daniel_123 ► ► 15:13, 10 September 2006 (UTC)

To help you with your welcoming of new Esperanza members...
[edit]... TangoTango has kindly written up a script that once a week lists all of the new members to Esperanza. The list can be found at User:Tangotango/New members of Esperanza; it is updated once a week, and will show all of the new members since the last update. If you're not sure if everyone who joined the past week has been welcomed, that is a great place to check! I hope that helps you in your welcome, and thank you for making a point to greet new Esperanzians! -- Natalya 18:36, 26 October 2006 (UTC)
