Steven Molnar is a Canadian Chef and restaurateur. Molnar is currently Chef de Cuisine at Quetzel in Toronto. In 2022, Quetzel was awarded it's first Michelin star.[1][2][3]

Early life and career[edit]

Molnar was born to a Hungarian father and Japanese mother.[6]

Molnar studied at George Brown College[7] in Toronto and later Institut Paul Bocuse in Lyon, France.[8] He worked under Chef Normand Laprise at Toque! in Montreal.[8] He later worked at Note Bene in Toronto.[8]

Quetzel[edit]

Molnar was welcomed at Quetzel as Chef de Cuisine in 2020.[9]

Unsure what cuisine to ultimately master, Molnar decided to pursue a career in making Mexican cuisine.[6]

Following the award of Michelin star, the restaurant picked up considerable business.[10]

Personal life[edit]

Molnar's partner is Ethiopian.[4]
