  • Reath, N.A., Jayne, Horace H.F. (1924-11). "A Classification of Hand-Loom Fabrics". Bulletin of the Pennsylvania Museum.[1]
    • This is a journal article published by the Pennsylvania Museum, The Philadelphia Museum of Art. It discusses different fabrics and how the weaves are made, including damask.
  • Lee-Whitman, Leanna (1982). "The Silk Trade: Chinese Silks and the British East India Company". Winterthur Portfolio.
    • This is also a journal article published by the University of Chicago Press. It is about different textiles and documents what they were and when they were shipped through the British East India company. This is published by a university press so it should be reliable and have good information. [2]
  • Cavallo, Adolph S. (1965). "Continental Sources of Early Damask Patterns in Scotland". The Burlington Magazine. [3]
    • This is a journal article from the Burlington Magazine, an art periodical. This article provides context for damask across countries, specifically in Scotland, and addresses where damask came from before it got to Scotland.
  • Meister, Michael W. (1970). "The Pearl Roundel in Chinese Textile Design". Ars Orientalis.[4]
    • This is a journal article in Ars Orientalis, published by Freer Gallery of Art, The Smithsonian Institution and Department of the History of Art, University of Michigan. The source seems reputable and has information that links the beginnings of damask in China with the Sassanians from the Arabian peninsula (which is part of our class).
