Hi! This is User:Bmantha ..Dr. M. R. Murty, extending my greetings to the entire Wiky Family. I am honored and fortunate to be hear. I am the founder member of Dolphin Nature Conservation Society (DNCS), a registered, eco-friendly, voluntary, non-governmental (NGO), non profitable organisation, founded in the year 2001, in the city of Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, India with a aim to inculcate the knowledge of nature conservation and environmental protection in the young minds. The main objective of the society is nature conservation, environmental protection, education and awareness. It is a student teacher based organisation, in a simple way teachers are the brain and students are the heart of the society. I am a retired Professor from Andhra University affiliated BVK college, a doctorate degree holder from Marine Biology. I am a Zoologist and Teacher by profession and a Botanist by passion and above all a naturalist and nature lover. I believe Plants as Living Gods. Through society we have conducted many nature conservation and environmental protection campaigns, surveys, and research programs - Olive Ridley sea turtle conservation, study of butterflies in the eastern ghats of Visakhapatnam, study of intertidal rocky shore fauna and flora of Visakhapatnam beach etc. I have published many research papers in zoology, marine biology and botany in various journals. The crown project of ours is the development and maintenance of this Biodiversity Park in Visakhapatnam. In RCD Govt. Hospital land in 3 acres we started this in 2002 and maintained with our own funds (my own funds and meagre donations from students) upto 2013. Now with the help of government agencies and through meager donations from student volunteers, and philanthropists we have been maintaining it. Hundreds of students and researchers not only from Andhra Pradesh but also from other states visit the biodiversity park for education and research. It has become a living laboratory for students of all walks of life with hundreds of plants, birds and butterflies. It is the only biodiversity park in the entire state of Andhra Pradesh. DNCS aim is to develop it further to cater the needs of student and research community at large.
